One and a half years ago, I sold a 5800 sq.ft. house on 2 1/2 acres waterfront with its own dock for $725 k. It was extensively remodeled and had a beautiful backyard with a paved walkway through the forest down to Fernan Lake. It is in the Coeur d’Alene area, so that price was on the high side compared to the rest of the state. However, in the last year, prices in this area have skyrocketed due to supply and demand imbalances. This is one of the top real estate markets in the nation now. People are coming from all over because they want to get out of the state they are now in. But, even with that, prices are far better than California. Right now, I have 7033 sq. ft. log home with 2 full kitchens, 2 full laundry rooms , a theatre , stained glass windows and 6 bathrooms on almost a full acre that will go for 1.3 million. It is a newer home and is very up to date. It is not presently on the market , but may be up for sale soon. P.S. Yes, I am in the real estate business.

17 years ago, I sold my house in Chatsworth, California and moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. I bought a log house that was more than twice the size for less than half the price on a huge lot. My water bill is still only one eighth the price I paid in California and my electric bill is about one third the price for a house more than twice the size. My income is actually higher now in Idaho too. I see absolutely no reason why anybody in California still lives there, especially since covid hit. We are COMPLETELY open and even though we supposedly have a mask mandate in my county, the sheriff threw it out the minute he was put in office. We have been completely open since the end of May. I LOVE IDAHO!

@@lightinthedark9984 It is wonderful here, but home prices have absolutely skyrocketed her in the last year. They have almost doubled in some places. We are a place that many covid refugees are moving to to get away from being imprisoned by their tyrannical governors. It is a great place to live, but because the home prices have gone so high in the last year, many people cannot now afford to come here.
