I manage vacation rentals. And you hit the nail on the head. The decision on what type of accommodation to stay at is all about the experience you want and convenience factor for each individual person (guest). This is a newer realm to hospitality and I love that there are so many options for guests now! Ironically, I got into the hospitality business because of our destination trailer!

Thanks for the Black tank shout out. We are in Simi Valley and currently we are in the crosshairs for the major wind event tomorrow. We have had our homes power out for the past 3 days. Luckily our place of residence has an RV parking lot so we have moved into our rig. We moved all of our food to the RV freezer and fridge. We currently do not have any fires in our immediate area but we have been evacuated from here for past fires. I know a number of people that have lost everything. So feeling sorry for ourselves about the lack of electricity seems very trivial. Thank you for what you both do. ❤️🙏🙏

Your rewind sounds made me laugh out loud. Thank you for your words about LA. I was born there, this is my hometown and still a favorite area explore. We were JUST in both PP and Altadena in the past month. Friends have lost businesses and homes. Friends and family are still threatened by the PP fire waiting to see if they need to evacuate. It's been a very rough week for everyone. Everyone thinks the earthquakes are the issue but it's the wildfires and mudslides here in CA we worry about. Wishing your family safety at this time! Congrats on YOUR new home! Hope you love it!

We are sending your friends and family love and all the support we can send from afar. It is truly horrific and we are nervous every day for our family in Venice Beach and Covina. CA is a truly amazing state and one we absolutely love exploring. May they find reprieve soon from the winds and fire and may the damage start to slow. It’s just heartbreaking. Again, I’m so sorry for all your loved ones are experiencing. -A

We are very glad we rented once. It was to try out a Class A. It was from a local dealer that rents then sells as used. We hated the rig and the way it rattled even on an interstate. A great lesson!

We're serial renters. Started with a Cruise America class C in 2021. Then bought a half-ton pickup in 2023 and rented trailers three times in 2023 and twice in 2024. All were good experiences. Hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Minor issues with some of the units and we got good at asking what was and wasn't included (so we could pack accordingly). I will say one big benefit was being able to rent the trailer near our final destination. We drove from the PNW to SLC in one day and rented in Salt Lake for our trip to Bryce and Zion. Not having to tow the entire distance was nice. In my experience, having a unit dropped off at a campsite didn't usually work as the parks we went to were a bit far from the cities/towns where the trailers are located. I am thinking our days of RV'ing as a couple are done (my wife is not a fan, but she humored me), so we saved on the purchase, depreciation, insurance and storage. If she had loved it, then we would have considered a purchase and been in a good position to know what we liked and disliked in trailer.

Time does fly by! LOL. We have not considered renting, but does sound like it could help anyone to see how it works and if they like it before buying a RV. Also, the situation like renting instead of doing a hotel or a BnB in an area. Very interesting! Great video, Thanks for sharing and safe travels!

We are full timers and have just purchased a new rv to rent out. I really want clients to enjoy their experience, so I’d like to know what you consider “thoughtful” touches. I’ve added things like extra toothbrushes, floss, toothpaste, travel size toiletries and feminine items, linens, towels, upgraded the mattress to a king BB mattress and beddys bedding, coffee maker and ice maker, blackstone, and welcoming decore. Loved this episode-it came at the perfect time for us!

Time to starr teaching Jack how to haul and set up Bexie! He can manage the rentals once he's old enough!

Very good review. I would also add finding the right campground is key. Crowed campgrounds with small sites and no shade can make staying at a hotel more appealing for some folks.

We rented from RVShare multiple times. In fact, after a handful of times, we went out and bought our own travel trailer. We had ZERO A issues with RV share. And, if you're comfortable with towing a trailer.... It's cheaper than a hotel... (We only stayed in the travel trailers that were only $100 a night to make it very affordable) ... Esp with dogs and 3 kids. Highly recommend!!!!

We have rented a 2 different campers from RV share. Both times we had a great experience. The first we picked up from Chattanooga TN and towed it ourselves to Florida. The second time we had on delivered to Hunting Island South Carolina. Someday we will purchase our own camper but until then we will rent one when we go on vacation again.

We rented out our class C twice. While working full time, it’s very difficult to provide the high level of service and also the time needed to train in each renter in the pre departure. No longer renting ours out. There was also a high level of stress involved. Doing a drop off/casita only style rental could be a lot different as you could control more variables.

I found that it comes down to if the RV is their personal camper or part of a small fleet. I rented our pop up twice and the difficulty and damage was not worth it.

Wasn’t for the fun of it. It was for the work we do in this industry to provide insight into what it is like and help others make their own informed decision before investing money. Please don’t belittle our hard work.

@@RVMilesPodcastNot belittling you., just some healthy constructive criticism. A reasonable way would be to rent one, use it and then review. It's is the only way to do a truly honest and unbiased review.
