You have to film as much as you like from the blards for public safety. Are the security so stupid they don't realise that filming from anywhere doesn't change anything to do with safety because of zoom lenses.

A very unprofessional approach and with their hands in their pockets. As I read it, they may be quoting you that the Crown Court is private property with public access as this is a separate issue to the Criminal Justice Act 1925, Section 41?!

Do they not think I am being filmed if I make a threat I could be sacked or worse public order. Are these not supposed to act accordingly when in public and in a official capacity. Where are the sia badges why are they not displaying them as that is against the law. Rules are not law unless a Acct or common law is in place.

I think the poor guys need a bit of help; it's likely they are trying to articulate Criminal Justice Act Section 41 (nothing to do with terrorism) which has a rather grey area tha extends the restriction to the precinct 41(F4C)-that is likely why the guards (who ought to be able to quote every line of one important and relatively short section and to throw in some case law) have been instructed to direct photographers beyond the bollards outside the precinct. Yet, you are right I don't see what difference it makes if the odd photographer is roaming within a reasonable distance inside the precinct. One can only presume that unscrupulous paparazzi style journalists have in the past behaved badly by swarming the doors and turning trials into carnivals. But who knows? P.I.N.A.C. Don't mess with Admiral H 👍✔

And section 41 makes it a crime to record someone involved in a court case. Security are never involved so can be recorded without issue

These muppets make it up as they go along. Their policy isn't law. But always ask them to show the policy or rules, and don't take their word for it. And it's publicly accessable, so you can be there.

🤣I have never heard so much BS in all my life! Should have challenged his "make believe" rules and just carried on walking about filming! Courts exterior grounds same as police grounds, fire brigade grounds etc etc are paid for by the taxpayers of the UK and thereby you have the right to walkabout and film, unless their is a physical barrier with signage saying otherwise!✌
@Stuart_George Жыл бұрын
Court exterior grounds do have legislation concerning photography. People (including auditors) have been charged and fined for taking photos outside courts. Just saying bear that in mind.
@IN_THIS_DAY_AND_AGE Жыл бұрын
@Stuart George Section 41 of the Criminal Justice Act 1925 covers photography in the "precincts of a court." I saw a video of an auditor filming a court building. I can't remember who it was or where. He was in a pedestrianised area and crossed over the line, marking the boundary of the Court. They had him arrested.
@Stuart_George Жыл бұрын
@@IN_THIS_DAY_AND_AGE Yep. This is the legislation used to charge a very famous and popular auditor a few years ago.

Apart from staff that would be everyone going in and out and how do you know whether they are involved in a case? I am not saying that you are incorrect but can you quote the source, not just section 41? Section 41 in what paper?
@TheBrawlBox Жыл бұрын
@@RonSeymour1 CJA 1925-pointed out in an earlier comment; in most instances, it is unlikely that one would know who is involved in a case.
@MrAndrewFarrow Жыл бұрын
@@RonSeymour1 yes, it’s very badly worded and vague. It includes the “precincts” of the court, which is impossible to define. It includes anyone “involved in” a case. The ushers? The clerk? That said, the fine is only £50 or so.
