I loved this compilation. it makes me wistful remembering how I used to rescue so many creatures. It wasn't my job, I was just a volunteer but of all the things I have done in my life, wildlife rescuing and rehabilitation brought me closer to my essence than even my profession did. These days I still get pleasure from rescuing a spider or a skink (small lizard), or a bird as they all have souls too, just like we do.

I have done this through my years, also, rescued and kept 16 cats (not all at once, of course) and 4 dogs, and still feed the animals, birds, squirrels - have rescued birds & squirrels and still do volunteer work for Happy Tails no kill animal shelter. I get my rewards just watching the birds & squirrels eat the food I feed them. Raised a baby bird, too.

Great People..Salute them...the guy running to save the calf seems to got hurt while running to save the calf...young girl saving the dwarf shark showing bravery and passion....the blue shirt performing an unbeleivale CPR on an animal saving its life and then taking to a vet hospital (he is not an ambulance driver but a public transport bus driver in Tamil Nadu government) .. man walking a risky path on the 6th floor to save a cat...man saving a kitten which was about to be crushed under the wheels of a car...saving the dog and cat in the floods....saving a racoon..saving the poor deer in the sewer..freeing the sting ray... saving 150 pigs from the fire...freeing the seal from the fishing net...more and more....god bless these people with good healthy life

I have been rescuing animals on a small personal basis for 53 years. I have saved rats, starlings, pigeons disabled birds, abandoned birds, countless dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. I currently have 4 companion animals, all rescues. I applaud anyone who helps.

I know it broke my heart seeing that frozen tiny kitten, I am so happy but surprised they were able to use CPR and bring the baby back to life and warmed up again. Makes me feel literally ill to think of that poor kitten dying like that!

I am 8 I was at a park with my mom and I saw a squirrel unconscious and I begged my mom to call the animal rescues and after 7 minutes of beginning she called and now the squirrel is free and living a happy life again

I once saved a kitten from a car engine in the middle of a rainstorm. Sweet little Elantra (the car of which she was found in) was safe and sound after an hour, now lives happily with the owner of Elantra and their family.

I once saved a baby possum found in the street next to the curb. Her mother and siblings had been hit by a car. People were just passing her by without noticing or bothering to do anything. I was walking my dog so took her home and came back with a towel in a box to pick up the baby. I took her to an animal rehab facility about 30 min away and she hissed the entire time. I was told she made that noise as she wanted her mother. She was taken in, warmed up and fed. They later released her when she was big enough to protect herself. I used to be afraid of possums but that experience changed how I viewed them.

I had the honor of rescuing a tiny kitten that was left out on the streets with no one to help him. He wore a blue collar, which led me to believe that the tiny kitten belonged to someone and they tossed them out in the cold. Bear in mind that it was freezing outside on Feb. 25th, 2012. As soon as I saw him from my window, I rushed downstairs to help him because he was in the middle of the street and I was terrified that he was going to get run over by a car. Without any effort, he followed me up to the front of my door and I carried him the rest of the way. I took him to the vet, to make sure that he was OK, and thankfully, he was. Today, Salem lives with me, he's my baby and he is just the sweetest cat. He's playful and he likes to chase me around the house and he loves to be chased by me. I hate the thought of what could have happened to him if I hadn't seen him, he's a blessing and he is all mine...

I rescued a cat this way once that I saw on my daily walks. I gave him food every time. One day, he just followed me across the whole football field at a school I live across from, carried him across the street to where I live. I ended up having another tuxedo before him that he looked like. exactly, and he lived to be 19.

Thank you so much for this video. It really gives me faith in humanity when I see regular people even risking their lives to save a suffering and struggling animal. It shows that humans have such a capacity for love and respect for any life they will stop and make sacrifices for all living things. All of you brave and kind human beings will have a special place of honor in heaven. I love animals because they are so innocent and at times helpless. I feel it really is our job to protect them especially when human buildings, construction, etc. have caused the animal to struggle. It breaks my heart seeing them struggling and it is so sad we cannot communicate with them we are trying to help them. Maybe somehow deep down some of the animals understand not all humans are bad and selfish. Thanks again.

I agree and feel the same way. I am such an avid animal and nature lover...have been since I was little. It breaks my heart to see animals in danger, suffering, in need of rescue, especially due to the fault of inhumane treatment or like you said, man's construction, buildings, etc. But it is also enlightening to see the lengths people will go through to save those animals.

Yes I saved a puppy from getting run over buy a car and I also saved a seagull that was stunned on the road. I saw lots of cars, I went out onto the road not worrying about my own safety picked up the seagull and took him to a big grass area away from the road and stayed with him for a couple minutes until he flew away. I also saved a cat that was just hit by a car, I gently picked up the cat, I noticed his pelvis was broken from his injuries. I curried him home and gently put him in a box with soft blankets and then took my parents drove him to the vet, I stayed with him until I knew he was okay, he also had grazes on his face from the accident. I saw a phone number on his collar and rang the owner to let her know what happened. The lady was very grateful and gave me a silver necklace with a cat on it.

My heart is always drawn to these videos that capture the rescues of many types of wildlife, from the largest to amazingly small, some l would like to share my rescue with you. Years ago I was living in a sparsely populated area. I was going to clean the kitchen, and when l looked in the sink there was a big Praying Mantis lying on a plate struggling. His wings had gotten mayonnaise on them, and when l found him still alive l gingerly picked him up and gently began to clean all of the oily residue from his body and wings. He didn't try to get away, or offer resistance of any kind. I talked softly to him as l carefully made progress, and once he was clean and dry he didn't try to fly away...rather, he stayed on my hand, watching me as l continued talking to him. They have amazing large eyes, with tiny, pinpoint pupils, and he would follow me as l showed him to my husband. We spent a great deal of time with him, and I finally wanted to take him outside where he belonged. We lived by a truck stop, with quite an expanse of gravel and blacktop, but about half a block away there was a motel that had a little creek running beside it, with overgrown oleander bushes that made a beautiful shaded area that l thought would be perfect for him. I walked down the stairs with him just chilling on my finger. I half expected him to fly away when l got down the stairs, but he stayed right there on my index finger like a miniscule bird. I got over to the shaded area by the creek, and l thought for sure we would part company. He just kept watching me, not wanting to go. I talked to him a bit longer, and l realized he wasn't going to fly onto the foliage on his own. I lifted him up and placed him on a branch, and said farewell to him. He just watched me leave. What an amazing experience.
