In March 2015, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer and given three to six months to live. I'm a single mom, and at the time my youngest was thirteen and we lived in a really awful apartment building that was 85 years old and had mold and all kinds of horrible things wrong. My church and my neighborhood and my friends did a fundraiser and found me a place to live and got togather and paid for a nice clean, well maintained apartment, packed me and my three kids up, and moved us to it. They took me to the new place, and got me settled on a new couch with my meds and blankets and everything, and then moved our entire home two miles to the new place. With God's help and everyone's help, I beat the cancer that was supposed to kill me, and even though I'm handicapped now we live in a nice comfortable sunshiney home, and my youngest is about to turn 21, and I am cancer free!

Their generation isn't silly, they've just created an environment where mental health isn't seen as being crazy and that many people are struggling with their thoughts on the inside, so their generation has way more kids that feel comfortable enough to ask for help or atleast tell people around them that they're suffering and I think that's great 👍

I remember one time I was in elementary school and it was really windy and it was pouring rain. I came prepared for the weather since I heard what it was going to be like, but unfortunately a little girl in preschool or kindergarten didn’t. She was wearing a t-shirt, shorts I believe, and regular shoes with her backpack on. I was in 5th grade going to an after school program and seen her standing next to me nobody noticed her and when I realized what she was wearing I took her backpack from her and lent her space to go underneath my umbrella and kind of cuddle up to my jacket it wasn’t much but I’m glad it helped her in the end as she didn’t get sick or swept away or something.

I cried more than I liked to admit tonight watching a whole bunch of videos like these. But about a month or so ago, I was walking to the store with my mom (which is about 15-20 minutes away), and I noticed a pile of something in the street. I was getting ready to ask her if it was a person and the words barely left my mouth before it moved. We're halfway down the block at this point and car after car keeps driving by. By the time my mom and I reach the man, one car has stopped, and it was an elderly woman. She and myself tried to lift the very inebriated man that was laying half on the street and half on the ground. To think everyone thought nothing of it, shows a lot to what this world has come to.

I have. One time my little brother was playing around when out of nowhere a guy in a black hoodie came and tried to take him. I was terrified but I ran after the person and I chafed him until he was out of breath. I was gasping for air when I just ran straight into the man, grabbing my brother before it was too late. The guy ran off but I could tell that his head was bleeding. I hugged my brother and broke down (I have anxiety). I picked him up and brought him home before the guy could try to do the same stunt again. My parents praised me crying after hearing the whole story. Yes, I was terrified out of my mind, but I still remember the vivid image of the guy taking my brother. I am a police officer now, and I share my story to schools, kids, students, and all around the globe. Nothing could have prepared me more to be a police officer.

I cried when the women got the teddy bear and the cat comforted the sad girl. When I was crying my life out because nobody wanted to adopt me, a couple who couldn't have kids came up to me and said, "How long have you been here?" I said, "Since I was 2 years old." The woman said, "How old are you now?" "Eleven." They fostered me, and one month later, the woman named Riley came up to the man named Henry and said, "Me and Henry love you very much and we want you to stop calling us Henry and Riley." I said, "Why?" Henry said, "Because what type of kid calls their mom and dad by their first names?" I burst out in tears and they adopted me. When I turned 21, I wanted to adopt a kid, so I went up to this girl and said, "Hey, don't cry. How long have you been here?" She looked up at me. She was crying. "I am ten," she sniffed. I fostered her. And later, when my adoptive parents came over, I said, "Katey, this is your grandma and grandpa." She said, "But you are fostering me." I responded, "Since when am I fostering you? " she broke down in tears and I said "I'm adopting you," It has been one year thar I have lived with Katey. She is now 11 and I am 22.
