he has a pretty good punch actually, especially compared to other riders his size. just doesn't look like it because most of the time he's sprinting against Pogi, who has on occasion outsprinted wva and mads pedersen on the flat lol so that's obviously not a good comparison. but jonas is punchy if he wants to be

Hey LR, love your channel. I know you probably aren't going to cover it but to you and anyone interested, want to shout out the Maryland Cycling Classic taking place this Sunday (3 September 2023). Neilson Powless, Simon Yates and others on some punchy hills outside Baltimore. Last year was the first time the race was held and everyone underestimated the elevation profile so a breakaway formed pretty fast and couldn't get caught. Now that teams have experienced the course once before this year should be fun to watch. Worth checking out!

@@peterers3 That’s really not the point. There are many guys in the peloton who have 0 technique on the bike, but they just don’t take the risks that Roglic does take. @paulnorman8274
@paulnorman8274 Жыл бұрын
He's not a bad pure bike handler. Lacks some situational awareness in tight fields, though... A year as a New York messenger, would do him some good.... In general, Jumbo seems to sign riders more for their ftp than their social awareness. Jonas perhaps excepted, they somehow end up at the wrong place at the wrong time more often than they ought to.
@HkFinn83
@HkFinn83 Жыл бұрын
Weird thing is he’s a pretty good descender. I remember first seeing him before he was a gc contender attacking and drawing away using the old supertuck position. His actual bike handling skills are good enough imo, it’s just that all riders who start at a later age will never be fully comfortable in a bunch and surfing the peloton etc. By the time Remco got his first bike the Belgians had done 1000 bunch sprints and team time trials😂

The flat stages are really comedy capers in this Vuelta, the television director is an amateur who doesnt know how to properly broadcast a sprint. The Belgium commentators were fuming in the last 500 meters because they had waited all day long for this sprint and it wasnt even shown. And the imagine of the winner emerged, a guy who for a moment I tought had put on a fake beard or something. Turned out he was actually legit. I was laughing so hard on the couch.
