hello! I'm new to your channel, loving your art business journey. You are 100% correct about standing to appear more welcoming and increase sales. Many many moons ago when I worked for Selfridges, on the shop floor we weren't allowed to sit down or even lean on the tills. Studies apparently show sales increase with people standing to support your shopping experience.

That’s a lot of artist I attended a convention in Germany it had 700-1000+ artists. I agree with the space artists get as someone who has attended conventions I don’t understand why they make vendors isles big but the artist alley feels so congested I go early because that area gets packed later
@drawnbyivy6 ай бұрын
wow that's a lot of artists 😳 and I agree, artist alley does tend to feel very cramped with little space in the aisle for attendees and also behind the table for vendors 😔
@chibi_art_creations6 ай бұрын
@@drawnbyivy it definitely is I don’t know how many went this year I think they had more applications as I’ve a friend from Europe who tabled there this year with a friend. It’s honestly sad 😔I suggested more room to the event I go to they added more space to vendors hall I’m come on people 😔

Hello! I am a newer viewer. I Want to say 1, you are adorable. 2) sleeping under the table is a new idea Ive never seen. 3) I love how you do your hair always before a con, trimming bangs or cleaning up right there xD As far as cons go, as an atendee, i usually look forward to AA. Exhibitors doesnt usually fit my fancy and is usually full of resellers... so I tend to avoid that. AA feels more personal and unique. Artists are all one of a kind :D you never know what youll find!

ahh welcome to the channel and thanks for watching the video 🥰 glad to hear you enjoyed watching my shenanigans hehehe and I totally agree! I do always prioritize walking around through AA because of all the amazing artists there. but recently I've been trying to make an effort to walk through exhibitors as well because a lot of artists who couldn't get an AA table or have outgrown a 6/8ft set up are now vending over on the exhibitors side!

This was the first convention I sold at so I was pretty shocked by all the walking, but other than that I had a good time. A lot of people didn't seem super happy with how large the vendor/aa hall was but I think it's going back to normal next year? I was told this year was a fluke with how booking ended up.
@drawnbyivy6 ай бұрын
thanks for watching and congrats on your first convention! 🙌 the walking was definitely a shock since most conventions i've vended at don't have such a distance between the entrance and the artist alley hall. I can't imagine what the trek was like if you had bad knees or mobility issues ˙◠˙ glad to hear it's going back to normal next year! i think vendors and attendees alike preferred the previous location for artist alley 😵💫

Cool, so I wasn't the only one! I have attended Momocon for YEARS, but due to nerve damage to my legs, walking around half confused to where things were was a legit NIGHTMARE. Once I finally found artist alley I did not have a very good time walking around. I'm not 100% sure if it was because I had no idea which artists were vending this year (I looked all over the website and couldn't find any information on artists tables) but hopefully that does change next year, I missed a BUNCH of artists 😰
@drawnbyivy6 ай бұрын
@@PrinceBaraButterfly so sorry to hear about your experience 😵💫 I definitely thought about how the layout (con + AA wise) must've made it hard for those with mobility issues ˙◠˙ hope they implement some changes next year to make it a more pleasant experience for vendors and attendees alike! also, if you're curious about to the artist list, you can find it here! 😊www.momocon.com/artists/

What's it like for the different seasons? I imagine cons are a warm weather event so im curious what your winter is like. I'm also curious if you vacuum pack the soft stuff for travel, I've seen lil handheld vacuums for sale for that. Might help with packing all the totes and hats
@drawnbyivy6 ай бұрын
my convention schedule is at it's peak during march-aug so I definitely think most conventions do happen during the warm weather months! my schedule definitely looks MUCH more sparse throughout oct-jan (I'm lucky if I manage to land one event per month) so I definitely have to plan for the lack of the events in the later half of the year I personally don't vacuum seal as space usually isn't the primary problem when packing suitcases for travel (it's the 50lb weight limit on for checked bags on planes 🤧) I have thought about vacuum sealing when shipping out extra boxes though 🤣

Love! I'd love to know about how much tote bags you usually sell of each design per day? Does it vary a lot depending on the event?
@drawnbyivy2 ай бұрын
it definitely varies a lot depending on the event! idk about the number per day but for mid-large sized conventions, i go through 15-25 bags per design throughout the entire weekend!
