Great driver, used to love to see him up at my local track, Hednesford Hills going wheel to wheel with Tom Laffey! Was also a real character and his cars were always immaculately turned out.

Thank you for sharing this...certainly brings back all the memories of going to national hot-rods with my dad back in the 80's...Wimbledon, Arlington, Ipswich, etc... I remember Barry testing out his car at Arena Essex with a turbo pinto engine fitted...certainly a different sound to a all steel xflow screaming round @ max revs...really good times, & unfortunately not the same today.

Best driver, loved his battles with George Polly and DuffyCollard. I was at Arlington the day he debuted the mk2, it went as well as it looked and finished the meeting without a mark on it. He used to be a show jumper and speedway rider before rodding. The guy would be competitive in any formula he drove in, I last saw him at Brands in the Thunder Saloon series early 90’s
