My point and shoot is the Olympus XA. Smaller than the T4, but it's a rangefinder and aperture priority. IMO, it's more useful. But in reality; it is the eye, not the camera that makes the image.
@bobselektor

@@SteveMillerhuntingforfood I have the XA too and it's a gem of a pocketable camera! The lens is sharp and fast, and if you set it to 5.6 and 3m focus you can use it like a point and shoot, nailing all the shots

you can actually half-press the shutter on the T4 to focus on the subject you want it to track, the circle inside the viewfinder is the spot focus. there are also small LED indicators right beside the viewfinder on the back of the camera to tell you whether or not you're in focus of your subject.

Actually, I'd totally recommend shooting Portra when starting out. It's a lot more forgiving, and produces way better images (in my opinion) than any consumer type film. By now, I've tried them all. Recently got 5 rolls back of ProImage100 and while it's cheaper than Portra, it was way too saturated and grainy, and the overall colors were not pleasing to the eye at all. With Portra, it seems to look nice right out of the gate. You pay more, but you get more too. If you're starting out I doubt splashing out $500 for a point and shoot is a good idea. A cheaper one with good film will net better results and is more likely to spark momentum and keep you going. If you're going to spend 500, there are better options than the Yashica, like a Konica Hexar for example. The Yashica is small and portable though, I have a T3 and it's amazing but also a bit limiting.
@rayne1337
@rayne1337 4 жыл бұрын
@@Niele160 even though it's forgiving I don't think it's a good idea for you as a photographer to start with something expensive when you have zero experience, plus a lot of people try film because of that greenish tones like you see on some party underexposed photos, which you can't (?) get on Portra
