35mm Half-frame Olympus PEN EE - Superior creativity!

I spent the better part of a month researching an insane amount of half-frame 35mm film cameras and the Olympus PEN EE came out on top for me. It’s super basic, fairly light, built like a little tank and really delivers great images. I've been told that these cameras are fragile, so we'll see!

I love the Pen EE with their limitations and the Format Size. It's a good, Solid daily shooter and BW Film looks beautiful with this format.

They are awesome cameras and can be a lot of fun. I picked up the EE-3 model (so it has the film door rather than the drop off back) a few months ago. I have enjoyed it. I had some small light leaks on the first roll that I put through it so I picked up some felt and replaced the felt in the grooves around the door. The previous owner had replaced it in the hinge area but not around the door and I can understand why. It's a bit tedious cutting such small pieces.

I just got a Pen EE-S for about £40 (UK) and it seems to be working so I'm taking it on holiday with me tomorrow loaded with Ilford FP4.

I have the Pen EE as well but not the version you have and I freaking love it. But I'm not sure if I'm getting light leaks or something else because the last frames aren't coming out but the rest do! I have to run another roll through and pay attention to see if I'm doing something wrong.Your pictures came out so good! Great video.

RE: Light leaks ..... Before putting another roll through through the EE, just checking the shutter / aperture mechanisms operation. I bought an EE that was supposedly in 100% perfect in operation .... The shutter fails to close or shut correctly after a couple of shots, and then work again after re-cocking the shutter by winding on again.

one question: how did you take the full landscape images?

Those were taken by changing how I hold the camera - in a vertical manner. The viewfinder is vertical and shoots vertical by default, so when holding the camera in a vertical manner, the orientation becomes landscape/horizontal. Make sense?
