Hey question just picked up a 48" Encore Pro-Line with a Honda GXV390 engine 11.7 hp (8.7 kW) @ 3,600 rpm in absolute excellent condition. On the taller grass "Florida Bahia and weeds" it leaves a strip in the center sometimes and leaves some of stallion stems half cut . Also I walk behind the mower. Blades are sharp. What are your thoughts?

My scag 36 does the same (once in a while) not a lot tho. Also, a lot of zero turns do the same thing. Any that aren’t timed with a timing belt have the potential of doing so. Especially thick or tall grass. I really don’t think there is a fix to it unfortunately. It’s just the way the are made because the blades don’t over lap.

@@cleancutslawncare oh OK yeah it’s only when the grass hasn’t been cut for like two weeks then I get those half cut strips. Thanks so much for getting back to me. Have a great day. Also I later today I did increase the belt tension to about 1/2 inch back and forth play on the belts so I will see what that does, maybe I had some blade belt slippage also.

@@cleancutslawncare I got a john deere z525e and it mohawked but other than that super clean cut, I looked at the blades after replacing them I cannot believe the cut looked even remotely good lol

Oh man, the difference it makes is unreal. Getting the 36 where the 52 wouldn’t go… or using the 36 where we were using the 30… so much better.

Dude that 36 stripes 1000x better than that scag. I love scare but that thing didn’t stripe that well but this 36 stripes amazing

Oh definitely. The scag gets the job done but not nearly the same quality cut.

Found a used encore proline for 600 and was told by a dealership stay away because parts are terrible to find They didn’t try selling me anything new, this was a lady in the service department telling me this

That engine locked up about 6 weeks after this video. Literally gave it to a guy outside a junkyard. I would still buy a new one tho. As long as you have a dealer. I found a great 36 encore for like $3500 that I would buy. Don’t need it right now but if I did I would buy it.
