Hi Olly, sunshine all day today in Preston. Much better than yesterday's washout, t was so bad we got the temporary lake back in the garden. Forecast for tomorrow is cloudy but dry and 18 degrees. (I'll take that) 85% today Dad's been comfortable today. 👍. I watched Tom's video and to say he was gobsmacked by your drill would be an understatement. Ah that fiber, for the horse arena,that stuff works great. But you need plenty of it. I believe we used 2400kgs on a 20x40meter arena. Also.. a muckspreader does the truck, but you will find the stuff long after 😅. well also depends on how clean you get it before, cuz it will stick to any rougher surfaces. (I used to have old tyres on the tractor.. that fibre would hang on to the crackled surface 😂. Another tip to have the arena in good condition.. it shouldn't be too dry. Especially outside it dries out faster than a field of wheat before harvest. And on the rain side.. we had about 4/5mm today here in the Netherlands. Needed, as it get dry on top quickly at the moment.

What kind of a germination rate would you get by putting in the winter wheat with the Kuhn? Be a very useful machine in tricky conditions as you’d only be travelling on tramlines. But would you have to give the field a light run of a harrow to incorporate the seed or would it work on its own?

No criticism of you Olly, but if all the farmers chase the RSI and take arable land out of cultivation of food in favour of flowers your big machines on big repayments will not be needed and drop in value. The tonnage of milling malting and feed corn will plummet, so the cost of importing the shortfall will escalate. Be careful, you reap what you sow. As you said in your commentary, the pigeons will get fat in winter. 😢

what's the rush with sowing the bird seed........why not just harvest your beans then sow the bird seed.......you would still get your payment just the same.......it seems to me your sacrificing a small amount of beans by rolling down some of them but for what gain........your income is coming from a good yield of beans not a good bird seed crop
