I highly recommend some birthing classes to prep you and gabe! They are such wonderful classes and teach you what to expect and what can happen in situations. ❤ it definitely will help your easy of mind, they teaching you breathing techniques and so much more!

I made it to my 36 week appointment and ended up having to get induced that weekend at 37 weeks because of my blood pressure 😭 I was so nervous, but I got my healthy baby boy!! He was close to 8 pounds so I don’t know how much he would’ve been if I went full term 😅 he’ll be 8 weeks on Sunday!!

While you have the time you really do need to prep the dogs for arrival of baby! I know you don't want to be disappointed if things don't go how you plan them but it's really important to set the dogs up for success. This will be a BIG transition for them and there are a lot of things you can do to make sure things go smoothly and they aren't accidentally rough/jumping on her or you postpartum. A lot of dogs who feel neglected after a baby is born can start acting out. While nobody expects it, it's VERY real. Please, please, please set your babies up for success. If you really love them, this is the best thing you can do for them to make this transition easier. I know you've said in the past that you've cried thinking about how they won't be your only babies anymore, they will be feeling the same. It's worth it, I promise.

Oh I agree!! We’ve been doing little things here and there to prep them, we constantly show them her items and say “baby or baby sister or ivory’s “ they know the stuff in her room is hers and they don’t even try to mess with it anymore when they see her items down. Anything else you can recommend? They are my everything!!! I was mainly saying I’m not planning anything special for when we get home I just want them to meet and not worry of it rn. But I will take any advice!!

@@TheBashamFamily Have someone bring home something she has worn and have them smell it- hat, onesie, blanket! I would also look up ways to train them not to jump because that can be a big frustration. You will be hurting and nervous for them to be around her so having the extra confidence they won't be jumping up is important. You could also get some baby gates so you have areas of the house where they can't go, like her room. That will be important too! I would also throw some treats in your cart so whenever you are feeding her, you can toss them some treats so they don't feel as left out. We adopted a dog who had to be rehomed because he did not do well with a baby being added to the family and it was because he needed lots of attention!

I’m set to induce in 2 weeks! We have 2 golden retrievers. Our current plan is to have a friend keep them for the first couple of days. Our pups get so excited when people come to the house and when we get home that we’re hoping by doing this we can have a couple of days to adjust and then bring them in. We have several close family members that are really uncomfortable around larger inside dogs, so not only will this help with the stress of the initial entry to the house, it’s one less thing for us to have to prepare for when people decide to come. They are used to staying with our friend when we go on vacation and they do really well coming back home so this is very routine for them. Since this is our first everything seems so trial and error, but we’re hoping this will mitigate extra stress!

Don’t worry if your test comes back positive for strep b! I had it and was so scared, but all they do is look at your chart, see that you have it and give you antibiotics right in your IV. I totally forgot about it to, and my son is perfect! I loved those last ultrasounds. My sons foot was in his mouth the last one we had 🤣
