Mavericks are destroying OKC in a matchup, they are terrible on the defensive glass and have bad interior defense, 48 minutes of Gafford+Lively as lob threat and pick and roll partners for Luka + Kyrie and shooters will be a nightmare for them. Gafford and Lively will grab 5+ OFF REB every game, grab several lobs and give us easy points each game. Defensively we are so much better post deadline

And also the Mavs are only 7 games behind the Thunder. If they were healthy all season and if they would’ve had this starting lineup (post trade dealdline) all season long we for sure would be a top 3 seed. Luka had to carry the load back in December when Kyrie was out and Exum and Kleber and Green and at times Lively. Denver and OKC have had their team relatively healthy and they have a lot of chemistry though.

When Dallas played OKC and lost to them twice… it was literally because the team wasn’t healthy. Josh green got hurt the last time playing them and barely played the full game and Luka didn’t play against them and the Mavs barely lost 6. The first time they played Kyrie, Tim hardaway, Josh green were all hurt and the Mavs barely lost by 7. The time when they were all healthy… THEY DOMINATED the thunder and destroyed them in the paint.

As a Spurs fan who has loved them ever since I was born in 1997 (Tim Duncan’s draft), getting Ball or Young would be rather ambitious… neither play defense and both need the ball in their hands in order to be effective. You don’t need them… they won’t impact the free agent market; San Antonio has NEVER been a market-attracting team, simply because they cannot compete with the Miami’s, the LA’s, the GS’s, and the NY’s (historically speaking). The moment you start playing the rest of the league’s game, you lose your identity and uniqueness as a team. The Spurs need a new coach that is a disciple of Pop who keeps the same general team philosophy, a leader at the PG position who is durable (maybe Brunson or Brogdon or Tyus Jones or Pritchard), Sochan to play the small ball 4 or the 3, Vassell to play the 2, someone like or Capela or Kessler as a backup big man so that Wembanyama does not overload himself to the point of injury, a solid back up point guard like a Tre Jones or a Davion Mitchell, and then a few versatile forwards/big guards like Jonathan Isaac, Hachimura, DFS, Hart, Portis, and Norman Powell.
