36th Anniversary - Piper Alpha Act of Remembrance - 6th July 2024

To mark the 36th anniversary of the 1988 Piper Alpha disaster, a service of remembrance was held at 1pm on the 6th July 2024 at Hazlehead Park & Piper Alpha Memorial. The service was conducted by Reverend Michael Mair (Oil Chaplain) & includes:
• Introduction
• Prayer & Act of Remembrance
• Reading of the names of 167 Souls
• One Minute Silence Laying of Wreaths/Flowers
• Commemoration
• Thank You and Close
Calum Mcllroy, an accomplished musician provided music composed especially for the service.

Most solemn part of the service was watching the families walking to the memorial with flowers for their loved ones. Thank you.
