i honestly feel that jaemin and haechan should not be getting any hate at all, it was clearly a mispronunciation and the dreamies laughed at it because they took it as a joke between close friends and the fact that the meaning between the two words were very different. they know that haechan would not be offended by it because they always tease each other a lot. as for jaemin, he was serious when he wanted to compliment haechan, he took the situation seriously and the word he used was unintentional. some say that haechan looked hurt by it, but he was only fake crying because he didn't want to blow the situation up. it is his radio show so he knew that he shouldn't fool around. please, if you guys truly support the dreamies, do not send hate to them and it should never come to a point where the dreamies' friendship is broken or they cant act the same way around each other. they have a beautiful friendship and i don't think that this should be affected by a slight unintentional mistake that their own fans blew up. lets support all of them wholeheartedly okay :)

jaemin said a word that was NOT meant as any offensive word whatsoever. he wanted to compliment haechan but mispronounced it because the only difference between the two words is the "n" in the middle (and he corrected himself with another similar word, jeomyeong) now, even if he said the word it does not mean any slur in korean because the word he said literally meant "learning difficulty" and not the person with the difficulty, also korean teenagers use this word to tease each other and it is used similar to the word "바보" which means dumb. the r word is commonly known as "병신" (byeong shin) in korean which means "sick body". so no he did not say the r word and does not deserve all the hashtags and hate surrounding him, and haechan especially wth did he even do?! i personally think they don't even need education because THEY KNOW not to use (byeong shin) in a sentence obviously (and they never did) and i-fans don't know how korean slurs work so who are you to judge their language just by ur own mistranslation??? nct dream are everything BUT mean and rude. they are the sweetest people who has ALWAYS been vocal about helping and volunteering for people in need and y'all are disregarding all that from a simple MISTRANSLATION. stop acting like google translate and start acting as an nctzen

but many Koreans have confirmed that jaem'n did indeed say that slur. It is true that he said that and we shouldn't cover or hide it. We should not defend them on this one, let's not cancel them either but let's educate them to be better in the future. I know that Jaem'n's actions hurt many people, so we can't just ignore that. It will affect Jaem'n negatively but the people who were effected by this remark deserve something. I hope Jaem'n learns from this and will be more careful in the future, also the other members should realise that it is not a thing to laugh at. I deleted what I commented an hour ago to clarify that Korean language is really difficult due to the pronounciation. I’ve said this in the past the “eon and the un” even Korean names of Kpop idols will mix up for example someone is called “Seong” I will search their name to look for photos and other websites will claim his name is “Sung” it’s not the same but apparently interchangeable. Having said that I’ve found this from someone who is ethnically Korean who’s bilingual in English and Korean but has family that is native Koreans who’s first language is Korean and they said: so he starts by calling hyuck “famous” in korean and that word rhymes with “eminence” 저능하(다) basically jaemin was just telling hyuck he has a superior complex. not using the r slur. it could also trans to jaemin calling hyuck dumb. Also I found this: If you learn hangeul, you will know it. They're 2 similar words 전능 = Jeon-neung = almighty 저능 = Jeo-neung = weak Its a play on words from my understanding he could be saying Haechan has a superiority complex and thinks he’s great but not really. Idk I just don’t think Jaemin would be like “hey you’re r-word.” I just don’t think anyone sane would say that let alone on live radio let alone have the editors edit it in. I think it is being misheard / mistranslated. I think those that misheard are taking the mistranslation and running wild with it

i think y'all need to look at the context. i don't even think he mispronounced because the more i listen, the more i hear 전능 (omnipotence) and not 저능 (the r word). and i'm pretty sure the rest of the dreamies laughed because of how over the top the praise was. and i don't think he "corrected" himself at the later time, he just simply used another word which meant the same thing. i'm open for a discussion on this tho!

the translation showed that he indeed said 저능 since it's "dumb" written over there but he corrected afterward "i meant 저명 (omniscience)" from what i see on twt, people with ableism or have a family with albeism got hurt because the boys laughed at that and even repeated the word itself honestly, i'm not korean myself but i kinda had worked with people who faced the "dumb" insults and how it hurts them so i understand why some people make this into big matter this is actually not a simple issue, since it's included different cultures, some cultures are sadly still let loose about the using of "dumb" (from im****, to the r word, when clearly it's a medical condition and shouldn't be used at joke at all) hence i think this is where the controversy take place.... some people including the koreans said that "it's okay it's just a word that people use often to joke with friends here" (since it's actually not translated into r word directly but more like imb****) but there are some people including the koreans too got hurt because of this (since even dumb itself is a very hurtful word if you heard it everyday and get insulted with that everyday) i actually feel i have no right to say anything since i'm not really familiar with korean languange but since this matter includes people that i love (both dreamies and people with ableism) i hope there will be some clarification about this
