I don't know if sunflowers grow in your country. In case they do, my grandmother grew sunflowers by her chicken coop. Their seeds would drop inside the chicken coop, and the chickens would eat them. This made the egg shells stronger. The sunflower also attract pests that the chickens will eat. And because they attract insects, that keeps them out of your garden.

Thanks for the intro and the kids playing down the river with self made boats. It brought me childhood memories. It also shows a different side of your personal life and family. Much appreciated! Great colour choice by the way. Can't wait to see the final result with the windows trimming etc. Congrats for the chickens, great addition. Don't know if they continue to lay eggs in the middle of the floor, but a nice trick is to find couple of white stones, which resemble in shape a real egg and place them in the baskets where you want them to go. It works very well because instinctively they lay where there are eggs already. Sweden is now full with people restoring houses, so props for the collaboration! Cheers and waiting the next episode.

Old hens are good for eating bugs and giving you manure for composting. They also protect and train young chicks. So they are useful even after they stop laying eggs. I have two old hens. They are friendly and a lot of fun. Give them a slug or two and they love you forever.

Hey Rosie, heights + ladders make me nervous too after couple bad falls. Lessons learned 1. stable flat surface for ladder's base 2. second set steadying hands often helpful & healthier when possible. Was wondering when you'd start exterior & loving results of all your creative hard work😊

I think you should put another latch on the bottom of the door to the Chicken Coup. You'd be surprised how much wild animals can pull on that to get in. Guess I'm extra cautious as here we have Racoons (I know you don't) and they'd work out how to bend that bottom corner. May 10, Northern Lights really extended down to where I can see them at my home for the first time in the Middle of the U.S. I'm guessing they are pretty spectacular where you are. Another chance to see them tonight the 11th.

Wasn’t sure about the new colour but I think it’s growing on me. Will you still have the white trim? Mind all your seedlings when the chickens are out! They too like seedlings, without meaning to chickens can be quite destructive! They are though very cute, were I much younger I would have like to have a few chickens. Now, not as mobile or steady on my feet so it’s no longer an option, unfortunately. They do all seem to have their own personalities.❤
