Summary: Chas worries when she discovers Aaron left the house at dawn and is concerned when she discovers he's not at work. When Chas sees the punch bag, she's not impressed - worrying about what Aaron will turn into. Later, at Jackson's grave, Aaron is wrestling with his feelings while a concerned Ashley offers him words of comfort. Aaron wonders if Jackson would have felt differently a few months on, before he finds some relief from the emotional pain by scraping his knuckles along a gravestone. Later, at work, Aaron hides his grazed knuckles from Cain and enjoys time with Zak on the punch bag as Chas watches. In the pub, Chas and Zak spot Aaron's knuckles, but he blames it on using the punch bag with no gloves. Putting his sore hand in disinfectant, Aaron holds it there to let the pain block everything else out...

aaron's self harming is really hard to watch. i am really happy that the dingles are finding ways of helping aaron instead of writing him off as an aggressive thug

Bless Aaron, he was going through so much back in this year of 2011. He's the best out of the Dingles. Haha, Zak nearly went to the floor when Aaron pushed that punchbag into him!

To be honest he is the most genuine member of the family. He tortures himself if he is involved in something bad and holds himself responsibility for anything he does.

Danny really is such an amazing actor. Some scenes there were so difficult to watch. Loved him in the scene with Zac and the punchbag. This storyline is going to be an emotional rollercoaster.

the show has done it again... ready to put us on another roller coaster ride known as aaron livesy and although it;s another dark one... I think it's amazing how many touchy subjects the show has taken on since Aaron's coming out storyline and WE all known danny will continue to do the story justice with his amazing acting

Love the idea of Aaron becoming a boxer,anything that will help turn his life in positive direction.Danny is such a great actor and the writing is keeping the emotions so real with Aaron remembering to the day three months after Jackson died.It would be great to see Aaron save enough money so Jackson can have a headstone made.

I love how Aaron is just a regular gay guy. I mean hitting up other people, the suicide attempt, your first boyfrient that becomes tetraplegic so that you have to kill him, the self mutilation ... boy that sounds so familiar and brings back all these old memories.

Lol the real question here is, when will this poor kid find happiness? Darn, it's been one bad thing after another with him. Realizing he was gay, fighting with Adam, punching Paddy, punching Jackson, trying to commit suicide, almost going to jail, losing his dog, the train accident, Jackson's paralysis, and finally having to assist in the suicide. Now he's super depressed and is self-inflicting pain. He has to have the crappiest life ever.

Lucy Pargeter (Chas) is an Awesome Actress. Aaron is frustrated over what could have been, or what ifs. He can't wrap his head around the fact Jackson wanted it. Hazel knew Jackson, and what he wanted. Knowing he wouldn't change his mind. Aaron will see this, once he let's it sink in. It has only been 3 months. Time Heals!

I thought Aaron would be at the cemetery seeing Jax. Zack falling back after Aaron punching it. lol. Good therapy for Aaron to let out his aggression. But seriously, you could see the anger coming out. Aaron self-harming is really hard to watch. Glad that Emmerdale is shedding light on the subject, thank you.

When people are lashing out at others, and they realize it isn't working to take away their pain, sometimes they turn the abuse on themselves.. as a child who was repeatedly raped, I became very self destructive and promiscuous. My sister who was also sexually abused turned her rage into alcoholism.. It isn't guilt, (the feeling that I am a good person that did something i regret and need forgiveness for).. It becomes shame (I am a bad person) shame usually turns into addictive behavior.. or self harm.. Aaron is feeling shame for his actions. And that is really difficult to come to terms with.

The punching bag is the first sane thing offered. I was once in occupational therapy and was given a piece of metal and a ball peen hammer with a mold for the shape of a bowel. I thought it was dumb. I had never accessed my anger. After smashing that metal a few times I actually felt better. Taught me a great lesson. Aaron needs a healthy non destructive way to get out his anger and pain. Then maybe he can get on with his grieving. He does need to cry and to speak with a neutral party. The writers probably won't do that as the English see talking to someone about feelings as a sign of weakness. They equate any type of mental illness or depression with insanity. A great flaw in the culture that.

At least he smiled at Hazel before she left, he´s "only" hurting himself and not others and he has visited Jackson´s grave again, not being that angry with him. Slowly improving I think. I can´t wait to see more. All these actors are always so great! Oh and he is always so sexy, now with the boxing thing...

The bag was a great idea. It gives him a place to go when hes feeling pissed and needs to get rid of pent up anger. Its a healthy outlet

@Demetri450 i think they are saying this is how different characters behave in the aftermath of suicide, but none of them are being presented as "right." fwiw, i am sympathetic to jackson's decision, and agree most with chas' comment (several episodes ago) that it was the right thing for jackson because it was what jackson wanted. i think hazel had said similar things, and she knew and loved him best.
