If you had added a few flakes of glitter to the black resin, the stray glitter would look more intentional. Making the design and border with black and then using a light or clear background would give a wrought iron effect. If you have, or can find letter molds, then making a name plaque would be easy.

That particular mould you used would make an awesome crown to store rings or hang jewellery on or as a gift for a little prince or princess to wear or decorate their bedroom with. Probably too thin on its own, so you could embed the mould in a longer rectangular piece & shave away a design on the top with an E-file to make it more intricate or as mentioned, to hold/hang your rings on. As I said in my earlier comment, the possibilities are endless!

I find it easier to lay the mold face down and then peel the mold off in one direction. The delicate resin will stay on your counter and you won't risk having breakage from pulling on the resin during the un-molding.

Michelle, I live this tray! It is one of a kind. Also, because the glitter floated a bit, it looks handmade. Definitely not a mass-produced tray. I like it! I've been using inlays and onlays for about a year and love the extra dimension it gives the pieces. That glue trick will be tried tomorrow! So thanks, this was a real pleasure to watch! When you make an onlay, a larger thicker fondant, plaster or wood onlay mould, I take them out when they're no longer tacky but are still pliable. I used these filigree corner pieces and bent them carefully around the base of a made, resin box. The points of the filigree triangles/corners, make excellent feet for any box. I used UV resin to secure them to the box and they have stuck on there really well. There are so many moulds to try!

That's gorgeous! I thought the glitter would have stayed put too since it was not only heavier but gloopy too. With the lighter resin on top I didn't think it would float like that 😂. I would like to add a suggestion. You just coat the bottom of the mold in clear resin and let it cure. If you have stencils, and they make intricate ones too, place it on your cured resin and dust the design on. Then finish with your top coat. That works too. Or dust the mold itself using your stencil works just as well. Depends on what you're comfortable with. ✌️❤️🤣 peace, love and happiness
