What joy and enthusiasm you brought to that song; I believe we just got a glimpse of Heaven! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

Clapping is a way of praising God. We are commanded to praise him Your way may be different than someone elses but it's all good! That type of mind set is what keeps the coC from growing. Nothing wrong with clapping or crying or standing if you are moved by what you are experencing in worship and we should not judge each other on how we go about praising God. Pray about such close mindedness.

there is no bible authority for clapping in the church of christ. we are commanded to "sing", ephesians 5:19, colossians 3:16. clapping and dancing and musical instruments (old testament worship) is not commanded in the new testament scripture and is adding to the word. we cant have it your way or my way, we must have it god's way. we go to church to please god not man.

It’s a silly tradition that needs to be let go. The archaic way of thinking that is the CoC is one of the many reasons I left, besides the rampant misogyny. So everyone spare me the talks and scriptures. Until women have an equal standing, I will not worship or take communion and that’s on everyone woman I’ve known and loved.

@@leandradozier968 LeAndra, I read your reply 9 months ago. I pray that your heart is softened to what the word of God has to say. I won't preach to you, I just want to encourage you to stay with the Lord, no matter what comes your way. Times are tough as you know, so don't allow feelings to keep you from obedience to God and not men. I'll gladly speak with you if you'd like. My email is bylewms@gmail.com.

The joyful noise is to made with the fruit of lips. The ones making the bass sounds cant be singing in harmony with the members at the same time. If we can clap along with singing, what prevents us from stomping as well. 3:11 is a prime example of man adding to theccommand

Thats good (singing),but in CHURCH OF CHRIST we don't clap and dance as God didn't instruct us to do so.....Don't let the church to become a denominational one...

Seems like they are celebrating and worshiping each other. They are completely absorbed into the entertainment of the clapping, dancing, and bass mic booming. With all that secular/carnal concert type excitement, the spiritual reverence of worship is lost. WHEN WE COME TOGETHER TO WORSHIP THE EVERLASTING FATHER REMEMBER HE IS PRESENT, AND WE ARE COMMANDED TO COME CORRECT. HE WILL REJECT OUR WORSHIP IF IT IS NOT ACCORDING TO FAITH. WORSHIP ISN'T FUN TIME OR LET ME SHOW OFF MY SKILLS TIME. WORSHIP IS SERIOUS, THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO HAVE DIED TRYING TO GIVE GOD WHAT HE DIDNT ASK FOR. CHURCHES OF CHRIST Don't substitute instruments with hand clapping and bass micing just because it makes song service sound better to us, or just so people can get into it. WORSHIP IS TO GOD. PLAIN OL ACAPELLA SINGING MAY SEEM DULL TO HUMANS, BUT GOD COMMANDS IT AND IT IS FOR OUR GOOD TO DO IT. SO SING OUT USING THE WORDS COMING FROM YOUR HEART TO GOD, FOR YOU ARE THE LIVING INSTRUMENT THAT GOD HIMSELF CREATED. THE INTELLEGENT MELODY OF WORDS THAT FLOW FROM YOUR SOUL IS SOMETHING PRECIOUS TO OUR FATHER. HE LOVES TO HERE HIS INSTRUMENTS SING TO HIM ON HIS DAY. NO MAN MADE INSTRUMENT CAN IMITATE THE WORDS WE SING TO OUR GOD. SO WHY LOWER OURSELVES IN WORSHIP TO SOUND LIKE A LIFELESS BASS GUITAR OR DRUM. WE ARE GOD'S CREATION AND HE EXPECTS US TO SING LIKE ONE
