I sure miss seeing these kinds of large 4 door cars back in the good old days. Especially from General Motors. Ford and Chrysler, too.

Incredibly gorgeous 🔥 - my grandparents had that spec ‘79, grey with red interior, that I rode in all my childhood of the 80s. Definitely miss that car … a solid GM piece.

We sold a 2 door 1979 similar to this back in the 1990's. It had a 105 HP 260 V8 and was probably the slowest car I ever drove to that point. The 350 4BBL option was almost mandatory
@bigcrook73Ай бұрын
@@ponchoman49 OH YEAH, you could measure acceleration on this baby with a sundial as opposed to a stopwatch.. slow as molasses, but once she's up to speed she's good. I'd say slightly better than the 3.8 V6 though overall

This is a very rare automobile. To believe that it was an ordered automobile from the get go. Air conditioning on the Oldsmobile was standard equipment in 1978. So the person that ordered this car did not want air conditioning. It was ziebarted. It's rare just because it doesn't have options.

Does this have a 350 or 403 V8?

This is identical to my mother's old car when I was growing up. same green interior and everything, except hers had a green vynal roof. Is this for sale? Very interestied in buying.

@@anthonylaspisa6992 I live in Rhode Island sir, and we both obviously love our cars! I also have a 1976 Fleetwood d'Elegance with 16 K miles too, but as of right now it's not for sale. Somebody would have to come with stupid money for me to release that one!

@@bigcrook73 yeah you know what last year someone offered me 30k for my car and I turned it down that is a very rare car they made around 3500 with the big block as far as your car goes I wouldn't sell it

I would've left the factory stereo in and had bluetooth added... nice car though.
@bigcrook732 ай бұрын
@@jhs517 I agree and would have definitely done that if it had a factory stereo to begin with. I am friends with Kevin Wagner who does rebuild these and add Bluetooth. ( I had him do my Delco 5 band EQ for my 1990 Chevy Beretta) This car had a vintage realistic unit installed when I bought the car and I'm 99% sure this car was never equipped with a radio to begin with. It had Factory cardboard block offs where the front speakers would have been! So in this case it was the best I could do along with wood graining the Chrome knobs that come with the new unit.
@jhs5172 ай бұрын
@bigcrook73 does he rebuild ford factory stereos as well? If so, how can I get a hold of him? But I think you did a great job with keeping this car looking great and mostly original.
@jhs5172 ай бұрын
@bigcrook73 and yeah it may have been a radio delete for keeping the cost down.

@@jhs517 I'm not 100% sure if he does Ford radios but the name of his business is Wags Klassic Electronics and his name is Kevin Wagner. You can find the group and him on Facebook and definitely inquire. I don't think I can attach a photo to the comments or I would send a photo of his logo

No A/C on any car makes no sense and No A/C on upscale car like Oldsmobile is rediculous and no Tilt steering wheel is outrageous

@@georgewilson1184 well it's a good thing the person who was happy to purchase this car from me didn't feel the same way. I like my cars with as many options as possible, but whoever purchased this car new decided this is exactly how they wanted it. That's a pretty basic Delta 88, no power options, no AC, cruise or anything.
