i love supportive Ste is, like when seamus offers Brendan to shake his hand, Ste was shaking his head at Seamus, like "don't make brendan do that". And when Ste said "you don't have to do anything you don't want to do, okay?" while glaring at Seamus.

Oh god, the whole camping story ... Brendan must have been so afraid of his dad, this poor little kid who knew what would happen, with his dad alone in the woods, in a tent that he himself was supposed to set up. God, this makes me so sick.

I totally agree, you saw how Brendan face soften when he looked at Ste. it's like for the first time, everything he had to deal with his dad, someone was on his side. He had that reassurance and safety that he needed so long ago. maybe if he had it then it would have saved him. Ste is really that light at the end of the tunnel.

Ah, I am loving this storyline. As much as I would have enjoyed a few more days of blissful Stendan, this is soap drama done right. The US soaps could take a lesson from this - a couple doesn't need triangles and infidelities to keep them entertaining. This human drama is far more engaging and heartbreaking. Thanks so much for all your work posting, emmettscanlanfans. I am so hooked right now, your video popping up today was a joyous moment!

Ste. Emotionally astute, supportive Ste. "You don't have to do anything you don't want to do." Those are words Brendan has needed to hear his entire life, and that they come from Ste just shows how much these two need each other. Cheryl SHOULD be the one saying it, but it's Ste. Also, Bren's look at Seamus when he sends Charlie on his way...FINALLY showing some backbone, like he's saying to Seamus, YOU KNOW WHY. And Seamus' reaction - totally guilty, and angre b/c of it. Great ep.

Think it's about time Cheryl put Brendan's feelings first. For such a close relationship they have she seems oblivious to how much Brendan suffers every time their father's mentioned or how he changes whenever he is in the same room as him.

Brenden was not just "beat up" he was sexually, physicall and mentally abused by his father. Saying his childhood was a "little tramatic" is a sincere understatement. BTW, Doug is still in the opening of the show. He will be back eventually.

Cheryl cannot be anymore stupid, how can she believe that monster's story of Brendan "falling" from a tree? Does she not see how terrified he is of Seamus? How can she not see that Brendan has so many problems and maybe, just maybe, those problems could of stemmed from an abusive relationship with his father? I officially despise her character at the moment. Seamus is public enemy #1! And I hope Brendan can protect the little boy from his father's perverted fantasies.

Hoang Minh Trang - it hasn't been fully discussed on the show yet, but during Brenda's trip home during Hollyoaks Later, we were shown a glimpse into his abusive childhood. His gran said she knew about it and worried it "made him gay." Implying more than just beatings. While the only thing he has discussed in detail has been the physical abuse, the sexual abuse was heavily implied (and confirmed in multiple soap mag interviews).

I don't think Cheryl is stupid, so much as caught in the same past as Brendan. I admit, I found it difficult to watch her smiling in approval as her dad told Brendan "I don't like that you're gay, but I guess I'm stuck with your depraved self." It defies all sense. But so does Brendan continuing to cower around an old man. His fear of his father is ingrained. And so is Cheryl's peacemaker role. She'd have to rewrite her entire image of her childhood to understand what is going on now.

I think "couldn't put up the tent properly" is actually an insinuation of what Brendan had to do to his dad; you know, like the idiom "pitch a tent"? If the writers actually intended the phrase to have a double meaning like that, I'll tip my hat to them...

I disagree, churst, I think they showed quite a bit to convey that Joel knew exactly what he was doing. The deliberately focused the camera on him listening in the background while Stendan discussed Seamus not knowing. Then he kept going at the club when it was obvious he had put his foot in it. Plus he admitted he did it in a fit of pique when confronted by Brendan. So yeah - he knew he was outing Brendan.

So Brendan pays Joel more for his half of the club than it's worth, and the police won't figure out that the difference is for a hit job. You're probably right. No one else would buy half, so Brendan doesn't pay more.

Cheryl is oblivious of what's happening, it seems stupid of her to defend her dad without knowing the whole truth. Brendan is a sad case. No wonder he grew up to be a vicious man. But on the inside he's actually a good person but becos of rage, he didn't know how to control his emotions. I blame him bastard father for making him like this. Thank god Ste is there for him n support him. Like some people say, a person with dark past can't change overnight it takes years of endurance n dedication

A nice father and son bonding week end... why after watching the a couple of times did I get the feeling that Brendan was climbing to the top of the tree to escape his father abusing him? I am pretty certain Brendan has other reasons to remember the broken arm and busted lip!(thanks Hollyoaks writers for not showing us endless flashbacks of the incident!)
@giuventino112 жыл бұрын
what exactly you don't care about? you can have an opinion but while you want to base it on a partial knowledge? the situation is clear so not only ste loves brendan more and understands him better because of that but also because brendan had a same childhood as ste's so he can relate to his difficulty, doug's problem wasn't a big deal compared to brendan's. and no, brendan doesn't kill anyone.

Brendan is nor ever was afraid of his da! You have to understand how some family's work! Either mom, da, grandma or grandda is the matriarch of the family in Brendan's case it is his da! Matriarch are revered! Everyone looks up to them, listen to them, love them! Sometimes even the whole community! Brendan at some point respected his da as such, until he started molested him, so the fact that he reverts back to that is expected! But Brendan stopped been afraid of his da a long time ago!
