Thanks for sharing, I found much to ponder. I wasn't really expecting this breadth tbh: Zen, ego death, semiotics and even some geometry at the end there. Gary was really good at articulating that metaphysical aspect of music making that oft feels overlooked, it's ability to really disrupt consciousness and enable one to momentarily peep behind the veil. I loved the part about learned taxonomies almost being reductive and hindering our ability to really see the world (the part about trees). Good stuff, thanks again for putting this together and sharing.
