So it’s another tale of new construction. One year warranty inspection. The story so far, as near as I can figure (it’s mostly my forensic imagination at this point): It’s assumed that somebody discovered along the way that the second floor evaporator coil couldn’t drain into the Waist Vent Soil Stack. So the stack was cut back to the indoor air handler closet and a reed valve was installed so that the condensate could drain but the waste could not vent. Problem solved, drain now begins here. Except that my clients can hardly use their upstairs commodes without siphon/clogging issues. Two birds with one nasty stone. Glad I was able to catch it.
