The devil is under God's authority all the same, because the devil does tells the truth, he just corrupts it. Even in horror films where persons wants to speak to the dead, the truth is still revealed in tje deception, because the spirit that presents itself in falsehood, always reveals itself to be a demon. So the truth is told in these films, but because people are so darkened in their understanding, blindly persuing these desires, it' becomes very difficult for them to see truth of God through his son Yeshua.
