I wish there would be a biography based movie of these two. It definitely would be Oscar worthy ❤

I've read before that there was an immediate movie offer but Katia declined. Even if there was a movie offer again in the recent past, I think she declined it again. She's become private and probably doesn't want the public's attention and intrusion into her life.

I love watching their interview. You can see on their faces: there seems to be relief that they were no longer constrained to the rules at the time of amateur skating. They were happy skating professional. I think they grew both as skaters and as a couple when they turned professional.

I never saw this program but it is certainly typical G&G fashion, perfection, grace and always in sync. I love you G&G, THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES, and showing the world true love does exist. ❣️⛸🏅💑🏅⛸❣️

I've never seen this program before and Sergei actually speaking on a interview. Even if it's Russian it's good to see. They were so good together. So beautiful to watch.

These two made everything look easy. You see all the other pairs skating but you can see it’s not easy for them and nowhere as fluid as Gordeeva and Grinkov. I think working with Tarasova showed us a different side of G & G and this program actually is very beautiful with elements that Zoueva didn’t invent. The most impressive thing I realized about them is that no matter what coach or choreographer they had, G & G were always magical and a once in a lifetime pair. Their skating skills and chemistry were superior and even nearly 30 years later they still wow everyone. They were so lucky to have become partners by chance and even luckier to have stuck together and never given up on each other. They just grew together through the years and were so beautiful nothing could come between them and it shows in their skating. You can’t teach that it’s pure talent, beauty, and chemistry as well as fate, they were meant to skate together. It’s terribly sad that death at such an early age for Sergei broke them apart. Otherwise, they’d still be skating together enjoying each other’s company. Life can be brutal and unfortunately Katia had to suffer a horrible tragedy. However, she moved on she’s turned her life into something beautiful by remarrying and continuing to skate.

Remember watching this on TV, really different from their previous numbers, choreographed by the master choreographer Tarasova. It showcased their exquisite lines and technical abilities. Their facial expressions and costumes reflected the theme.

I almost didn't recognize Tarasova. She was so thin. Love her work though and working with G&G must have been effortless.

The dog was the Great Dane named Veld, who loved Katia’s mom, and Katia’s mom loved how Sergei would play with Veld. Sergei apparently didn’t have a dog until he married Katia and got the bull terrier puppy that didn’t live to be an adult dog-I forget its name. Something like Moshka.

Can't stand those hideous costumes! I like Marina Zoueva much better as their choreographer.
@ravenel24 жыл бұрын
Whatever Tarasova did for them artistically I’m glad it didn’t last. Marina Zoueva had such taste and elegance in everything. The costumes should have been tan-they remind me of green beans. But not G&G’s fault.

Oh wow!! I've never seen this before. Great! They forgot to mention that she also lives with her sister, Masha : )) too. Poor Sergei had to wear some funny costumes.
@tachor58344 жыл бұрын
Why are you all writing weird comments on Sergei's outfit? Have you ever been to the theater ??? I have such a feeling that you haven't! That's an absolutely artistic thing to wear costumes which emphasize the idea of the whole performance and to be one unit along with the music, choreography and philosophical background. Isn't it clear? Just for the record, each era in the world's history is characterised by its own clothes fashion as well as each figure skating era! That was what made G&G's style even more UNIQUE!!!

This isn't even the worst. Remember the hot pink unitard with puff sleeve jacket? They wore it for an exhibition program in 89 or 90. The whole performance I was "how did poor Sergei get talked into wearing that?!". I'm so glad G&G got reclaimed their classical elegance after This isn't even the worst. I'm so glad G&G got reclaimed their classical elegance after a couple years of trying to be dramatic.
