I guess you inject water through drill pipe, cooling it and removing debris, rocks and stones. Water mixed with stones the comes up under pressure around the drill and is collected and guided to shakers which clean from rocks, and water is collected in mud tanks. From there it goes through the mud pumps and back to the drill to repeat the process.
