Dekh Bhai in short uska ek angle of inclination π+theta ho sakta tha.. but in case you dunno angle of inclination is taken as the smaller angle,, so as the sum of all angles must be 2π we can say ki dusre wala would be 2π-(π+∅)=π-∅ Dusre way mei dekha Jaye toh.. Cos(∅)= -cos (π+∅)= - cos(π-∅) Matlab ki angle of inclination dono tarah se cos wala angle same hi banaenge

hello i hope i can clear your doubt, First remove this misconception that there is only one line with one set of direction ratio this is a wrong statement as there are literally infinite no. of lines corresponding to a set of direction ratio yes there exists a unique line corresponding to direction cosines because angles are also unique for a given line Second for a same line if you move it parallely we are just multiplying a constant to it and when we take its ratio is just cancel of hence giving us a1/a2 = b1/b2 = c1/c2 hope you understood it i also got some clarity while explaining.

Yes, there is a unique straight line but of one length. Two lines with same direction ratio can exist, notice the term direction "ratio". Example: i + 2j + 6k and 2i + 4j+ 12k

What you have given is, vector along x axis.1,0,0 is going 1 unit along x and 2,0,0 is going 2 units along x. axis . That's it. No y or z component. If any components present then we need to compare.
