3D: How the unconventional Frommer Stop Pistol works

The Frommer Stop was a Hungarian long-recoil, rotating bolt pistol, manufactured by FÉG(Fegyver és Gépgyár) in Budapest, Hungary, in various forms from 1912 to 1945.
The Frommer Stop was designed by Hungarian weapon designer Rudolf Frommer (1868-1936) and its original design was adopted as the "Pisztoly 12M" in 1912 by the Royal Hungarian Army as part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
The Frommer M1917 Stop pistol was also used in a dual mounted tripod that fired both pistols in full automatic like a double barrel machine gun. The pistols were inserted upside down and fed from 25 round box magazines.

I recently spent a lot of time troubleshooting one of these that would not cycle and became very familiar with the way this strange pistol functions and have come to really enjoy the mechanics of it. I don't have a slow motion camera so I could only imagine how it was working. Very detailed and fantastic model! Liked and subbed with notifications.

Awesome vid. What is responsible for the delay in the bolt once it gets to the rear of it's path of travel? It appears the bolt remains static at is rearward position until the barrel returns to it's forward position. Is it the rear camming surface which causes a the delay with the bolt, the specific spring tensions, or just the pressure in the chamber being returned to nominal levels?

It's the small lever you see over the hammer. It's spring loaded, so it rises, locking the bolt rearward, when the bolt retreat, but is't lowered by the last bit of the forward motion of the barrel (due to the inclined surface at the end of the barrel's extension), so freeing the bolt.

Wow, I now understand so much of the inner workings of the pistol. That's really cool, I'll be checking out your other videos too. The only thing I do not understand is what makes the bolt rotates, I see that it does, I just don't see why.

There is a small pin underneath the bolt at a 45 degree angle. Looks like that's what makes it rotate.

how did it eject the cartridge with the ejector missing as shown? (You did add it in, but only later)

Have you thought of possibly reading out the text or changing up music? Possibly some music based on where the nation the gunmakers came from.

It is not easy to find good copyright-free music. I have tried some other music, but I was not happy with it.
