3D-printed Model of the Automotive Differential

The Automotive Differential transmits power from the engine to the driving wheels while allowing them to rotate at different speeds when the driving conditions call for it, such as during a turn. To make things more interesting, this model uses a hypoid pinion/ring gear pair instead of a bevel gear pair. The model is powered by a 6V electric motor equipped with a speed reducer.

I love how this is a culmination of many things that OT VINTA has covered so far in other videos. From learning how to design and build a geometrically correct gear tooth, to a hypoid gear drive, to finally the beautifully finished differential we see here. You guys make great stuff, but can you please deinterlace your video before uploading to youtube. The intelacing looks horrific. Better yet shoot progressive scan.

Thanks for your suggestion. In Blender, that would mean checking the "de-interlace" box on all involved video strips, correct?

Lots of video encoding tools can deinterlace so if you're using Blender for video editing, that probably works. But it's much better to shoot progressive video without the interlacing to begin with. My favorite budget camera is the Panasonic G7 (as low as $499) which shoots 4K as good as the Panasonic GH4.
