Thank you covering soo many topics. 1 thing to mention is cutting the ptf tube if it looks burnt. It can revitalize your pla feed. They actually wear out and burn

I have the same problem but even changing the extruder didn't resolve it and sometimes for some reason something fixes it for a brief period of time till it happens again

Been having an issue for a long time like this, I have the metal extruder. Turns out mine needed to be tuned. (Tightened screws to adjust tension, and lubricated)

you can choose diff quality settings. The other issue could be that your extruder is loose/ needs tightening.
