It's a TL speaker with no dampening at all, it WILL resonate A LOT! Damp it with some kind of wool or something inside the tube, play with its density and positioning until you remove these harsh resonances (that can go up to 9dB). You will loose SPL, but with TL speakers that's the way to go, they're not super efficient, but they can go lower than any other (maybe "infinite baffle" with huge excursion speakers can go lower) and are amazing for tiny speaker sound deep AF!

Best to make it in that size is a passive radatior and sealed box

Why a smaller one? Youd never wanna choke an 18 it will just decrease output and sound like trash I've got 3 competition 18 inch woofers and small boxes are no good

AustinAutomotive I think he meant to make a smaller model with a smaller woofer, not make a smaller enclosure for a far too big of a woofer for the 3d printer

By the way that speaker is actually really good when you build the appropriate size box, That port is massive for that size of speaker.

Nice performance from a plastic cabinet. Try some vatelin, cotton wool behind the speaker that may eliminate some resonance. The inner walls usually dampened in labirynth, transmissionline boxes, layered with thin fleece. vatelin

There a good amount of math involved into making a speaker cab and even more for a port. Just eyeing that port, I'd say at least half of that hole needs to be closed off. To bad you glued the side, you could have 3D printed a wedge to glue inside. Probably still can if you have the dimensions, just make a tapered fit.

The cabinet looks very well designed, but should probably have given a little bigger room for the woofer. Also, try passive radiators (or simply blown speaker units) for smaller speaker units. Anyways, love your vids! Keep up the great work!
