Thanks for the very informative explanation and demonstration of importing STL files into vCarve Pro and creating the toolpaths for carving.

A couple years ago I gave up on an important project because I couldn’t figure that out. But now I’ve successfully completed the project with your help. Many thanks.

Thanks for fixing an issue I had. Didn't realize that the depth of cut was dependent on the fixture of the file within the side view. Kept losing a lot of detail. Now I have to figure out how to set different parameters of cut where there are holes within the STL File.

now you need to make a negative of this and then make a nice green sand mold and make it in aluminum! :)

This was great, I've got a shopsabre 23 coming in and this has been helpful to get a little idea of what's going to need to happen to make the machine work. For the tool change are you using a ATC or is it manual, and if it's manual how would you setup a manual tool change for that transition from the rough cut to the ball end? I now you gotta edit the Gcode but maybe the Vcarve software has something in there to set up that way.

Thanks for the video explained a lot. Does the software give a approximate run time for the carve?
@Sizzle994 жыл бұрын
It does but it’s a generalization
@gunracksonline4 жыл бұрын
@@Sizzle99 it's a approximate time. Is usually far off? Says it says a 1hr but ends up being 2

Thanks for the tutorial! Curious, what post processor do you use? Appreciate it.

I use carbide motion from carbide 3d. It’s free and works good with the Shapeoko

any info on how to turn a photo or logo into 3d stl to import to varve
@mikehoufek216 Жыл бұрын
have you ever lost detail while converting? I bought a file off etsy and it showed a lot of detail but after carving the detail was not there. Used a very small tapered bit so that was not the issue.
@Sizzle99 Жыл бұрын
It all depends on how you create/adjust the tool paths.
