@@santoshsharma483 Well there are multiple categories that count in the final result: Digital sales, Physical sales, Pre-voting, Broadcasting, MV views, etc. In the Pre-voting, we were in first place which gave us the maximum amount of points in that category (2000pts) and the increase gap in % between 1st place and other groups makes other groups lose points in that category. From 1999 to as low as 0. Physical sales are the number of copies sold. Again there is a maximum amount of points in that category but forgive me I don't remember how much Digital sales are the sales on korean streaming platform. We mostly lose there because the fandom is more oversea than local. And oversea fans don't necesserily get access to those platform easily. I think the maximum amount of points in that category is 3500 points. There is also the broadcast category which is the points you get for appearing on shows and radios, but sadly, most shows were cancelled due to the timing with the upcoming Olympics. So Dreamcatcher didn't get full points there. Overall, pre-voting is only a fraction of the result and can easily be overturned. For example, Kiss of Life, the Show Champion barely had any votes in the pre-voting category, but had full mark on the digital sales (i don't believe they released physical copies) and it allowed them instant 3500 points. And they also had the opportunity to broadcast by being on Weekly Idol. Allowing them full mark as well (1000?) Essentially, Dreamcatcher was about 1200 points behind. We needed more points in digital sales and we needed to appear on Weekly Idols.

@@santoshsharma483a big part of the voting is by streams. Ksomnias can spend money on streams so there are usually coordinated efforts to fundraise money leading up to a comeback in order to boost the number of streams. This is one of the categories the music shows use to judge placement. It’s overly complicated so I don’t do it and I just buy a copy of the physical album and stream lots on KZbin and Spotify.
