Select Kia models have a Surround View Monitor…
And now, some also feature a three-dimensional display.
Surround View Monitor, or SVM, is a parking support system that allows you to see in front…
Behind…
And on both the left and right sides of your Kia, thanks to the four strategically mounted cameras that display your surroundings on the infotainment system screen.
When SVM is off, the rear camera view will automatically display on the infotainment system screen when you shift into reverse.
This camera view will turn off when the vehicle starts driving forward.
To turn on SVM, from the infotainment system screen, select SETUP…
Then VEHICLE…
You’ll see DRIVER ASSISTANCE and VEHICLE SETTINGS…
Select PARKING SAFETY…
And SURROUND VIEW MONITOR AUTO ON.
Now, SVM will come on automatically and the camera view will be displayed on the infotainment system screen whenever you are in Drive or Reverse.
When you’re in Drive, the camera view will continue to display while you’re traveling at speeds below 6 miles per hour.
If you keep the SVM system on, the camera view will reappear whenever vehicle speeds drop below 6 miles per hour.
SVM provides you with a variety of different camera modes - use the touch screen and push to select your favorite mode.
When in Drive or Neutral, these modes include:
A display of the front wide-view and top view… which is the default setting.
You can zoom in the front-top view and the top view…
Or you can display the front-side view and top view.
In reverse, you can select to see the rear wide view and top view - this is the default setting…
You can zoom-in the rear top view and the top view…
Or display the blind spot view and top view.
Select Kia models have a button for three-dimensional view all around your Kia - this is a more life-like rendering of your surroundings, which should make parking and maneuvering easier.
Press the 3D view button to activate 3D mode…you can rotate the view on the touchscreen
In the Camera Settings, you can select to display the:
Top View Parking Guidance…
Rear View Parking Guidance…
And the Parking Distance Warning.
Remember, these cameras provide a wider range of vision and may appear different than the actual distances.
The Surround View Monitor is not a substitute for proper and safe driving procedures. You should always pay attention and directly check to your left, right and rear.
