Now, it's time to learn the Abaqus with a practical example. 3D truss modeling. A truss is made up of a collection of two-force members to form a rigid structure. A structural component with only two points of force is referred to as a "two-force member." Trusses are most frequently used in structures, where it is easy to give support for the roofs, floors, and interior loads like services and suspended ceilings.
In this video, you learn how to model a truss in the Abaqus step by step from the Part module to the Job module. In the end, the results will be analyzed.

Thank you for the video, but when I am using the truss elements i.e T3D2, I am getting the Warning "Solver problem. Numerical singularity when processing node TRUSS-1.8 D.O.F. 3 ratio = 4.21658E+15." How to avoid such a problem.. Can u suggest me... Thank You....

Hello, thanks for your comment. check these three things in your model: 1. Check your material properties. 2. Check the Displacement you applied in your model; it might be too high for your model. 3. Check the number of elements. In a truss, each member of it must be assigned to only one element. After you checked the items above, if the problem still exists, your model must be checked completely.

Hi, thanks for your comment. In such cases, you should use 3D continuum elements and model the whole structure.

You've represented it as a singular geometry, neglecting the joint with a pin connection, which is fundamentally incorrect for structural analyses. Truss joints are designed to permit rotation and resist translation exclusively. This idealization is inaccurate.

Thank you for your comment. In this video, we intended to show how to model a 3D truss with the truss elements. This idealization is not totally inaccurate; yes, there might be differences in the stress results at joints but it’s not like that the results are wrong.
