Movie Clips: 0:01 The Great Wall (2016) 0:04 House of Flying Daggers (2004) 0:06 The Great Wall 0:15 House of Flying Daggers 0:19 The Great Wall 0:21 House of Flying Daggers Zhang Yimou directed both films, with Matt Damon starring in The Great Wall. The 3D here is a faux stereoscopic, which requires a left and right image projected simultaneously. The framing bars with the masked projectile help to fool the brain in some that it appears to pop out from the screen. The two clips that worked best are from The Great Wall. If you pause the video and then click on the following time stamp, it will help you to see a still image of how the object comes through the bars with the Chain Anchor at 0:01 and the Arrow at 0:10. Both original films do not have the bars as this is the work of a creative fan.
