I spend hours on this clicking issue, which drove me nuts, until I figured out what you've already explained. I did a manual Z-axis bed calibration and set the nozzle height to about 0.3mm from the bed and that resolved the first few layer clicking issue. In addition I've also reduced the extrusion rate at 96% while increasing the nozzle temp to 220 deg. This is printing with ABS. I am using Kapton and Glue Stick and have no issues with print so far.

Thanks for your reaction and good to hear you have solved the clicking problem. It's not that difficult, but a lot of times people don't change the extrusion rate correct. Happy printing.

Hi Brian, nice video and here my comment, the clicking sound is not really harmful to the printer and its components but for people who don’t like it it is easy to get rid off true a simple setting in de slicer software, bottem layer speed at 10 mm/sec did it for me.
@3dPrintCreator7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ruud, There are more ways to get rid of it and use the printer on a higher speed as well. It's indeed not harmfull, but if you plan a print for 24+ hours it keeps you awake the whole night :-)

This matches the problem I am having exactly. Great video. 3d print creator, did you ever make a video on using flexible filament with this printer with the original extruder? I was hoping to try some
@3dPrintCreator4 жыл бұрын
Hi, I have not made that video, yet I have worked with some flexible filaments with succes, but the hit versus miss ratio is about 50/50. This printer is not really made for flexible filaments, unless you change the extruder of the machine.

@@3dPrintCreator I've thought about replacing the extruder. But at what point is it better to just get a different printer? I've been thinking about selling the da vinci and getting something like a ender 3 v2. What are your thoughts?
@3dPrintCreator4 жыл бұрын
@@wyattdonley2298 I would agree to that. Unless you print your extruder and replace it with home made parts, so you don't make costs, you are better off with an Ender style printer. The Enders are for more superior then the Da Vinci.

Hi Anthony, In this video I use BuildTak on my printer bed. BuildTak is a material where filament sticks very pleasantly, provided you have a perfect leveling and the height of your head is really well set. If you use the head of the printer too close to the BuildTak, then you do not really get a print from your bed anymore, so you really have to look out for that, but if it's well-tuned, it will stick great, while you're with a little force your print easily loosens. The advantage of BuildTak is that it is compatible with many types of filament. I use it for PLA, ABS and NGEN filament, but also for Nylon. For use with Nylon you have to use a little glue, but then it is really perfect. I want to tell you that this video is already quite old and that a lot of new innovations have been added after making this video. For example, you can now also buy PEI, which works even better and you could convert your bed to a Diamond Glass bed, such as that used with eg AnyCubic printers (who also sell this separately) I think a Diamond Glass bed on this moment is the best one

Hi Brian, I've noticed on my Da Vinci Pro that the filament feed tube hits the top of the cabinet during the first few layers of printing. I think you've mentioned this before and I wondered if you have come up with a solution? I've emailed XYZ in the same regard and am waiting to hear back. Thanks so much! Mark
@3dPrintCreator4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, Yes, that happens all the time with this printer. I solved this by putting a piece of cardboard inside the printer to make a flat top. Not only did it get rid of the loud banging, but also it helps to keep the PTFE tube good for a longer period of time.
@markhenderson2184 жыл бұрын
3d Print Creator - thanks so much. That sounds like a simple and easy fix. 😀 I was thinking of creating some sort of stay device to push the tube down slightly, yet wasn’t sure if the “new” angle would interrupt/bind the flow of filament. I had also thought about simply cutting out the low hanging portion of the top where the tube tends to snag - yet didn’t want to void my warranty by doing this. 😳

I'm new to 3D printing and bought the XYZ Printing Da Vinci Pro for my first printer. I have discovered that the Boden tube keeps hitting (clicking) on the cover above (seem to close) the nozzel, I think it's because its is wouned around the other tube of cables. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue without creating other issues with the tube? Thanks and I really like your channel!

Do you know of a video that shows how to remove the print head for unclogging? I think the reason why I'm getting the clicking is because the nozzle is partly clogged.

Hi, take a look at the answer I gave you today under another video.
@blabloq7 жыл бұрын
Hi! We have a 3D printer, same as this one, but it seems as though it's attempting to load filament too fast. However, we used the same settings before and it worked until the filament was tied into a knot but we didn't notice fast enough, resulting in the printer pulling on the filament and continuing to print with nothing. Now we're trying to get it to work again: Nozzle is unclogged, took apart the extruder part and cleaned it; the motor works, but when it tries to print the PTFE tube comes loose from the extruder (we pulled it out before, which may have been a mistake) and filament starts building up inside the printer. We're currently buying new PTFE cable and extruder 5mm part, hoping that fixes it, but I'm not sure that's the only problem. Can anyone help us?
@3dPrintCreator7 жыл бұрын
The problem of the PTFE cable disconnecting from the extruder is pretty common with this printer. You can buy a new push fitting to solve that problem. This happened to me maybe 5 times now.

Some XYZprinting printers can, some can't. It's in the specifications if they are capable of printing ABS, so you can easily find it on their website. A printer needs a heated bed and preferably a closed chamber to be able to print with ABS.

Just bought a new davinci 1.0 pro from amazon. Opened it up removed all the clips and safety stuff. I turn it on ERROR 0031 Y axis moves back and starts grinding???
@3dPrintCreator6 жыл бұрын
Probably a cable on one of the steppers or on the motherboard that came loose. Not a difficult repair but it should not happen on a new printer. Try to get it replaced, else try to follow the cable from the Y motor and see if they are all connected (can also be a broken wire or bad connection in the connector).

Read all before u start do somthing, or u can have extra cost doing this!!!!!!! I had problem becouse my extruder clocking- solution offered is deep cleen. But while it come again and again and ruing my printind object- i dont like to have printing ruined when i use more then 20meter of filament. Then i found out that the parts coming with printer is not collected good and not ready to use as Davinci declare. Before u start first print, u must tighten the hed very hardly (but not to brake), then u will have no problem with clicking sound. However i would do first print some parts to be able to upgrade to KV6 head if u acsidentely brake the tube uper the head. U should search for video on youtube with link to have the parts for printing. Here is one for 1.0: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rImco2eEmNdnmrc What u would need to order with the kv6 head is a 5v Fan 30xx and right connecting stick for heating element, or just use an old one- i did no welding to. Well i did some adjustment for one part and i did no drilling, however- i dont need to worry anymore about ruining my printings again :) Now about THIS wideo where we r now: lowering the extruding is a particular solution. U have no clicking as clocking heat part now heating enough for filament to go thru, but u get the thiner lines and if u get to lines near- they r not good connected. I would not do that as i like smoother printing and stonger!
@3dPrintCreator6 жыл бұрын
To bad you don't seem to understand the problem. I don't set the extrusion to UNDER extrude, like you mention. I set it to CORRECTLY extrude. The clicking noise you hear is because the machine is OVER extruding and that's a something you want to avoid, not only for the clicking noise, but also because the dimensions of your print are not right if you are over extruding. The KV6 head solution is not such a good idea either as this head is not made for a proper cooling. I have made a video about that as well, also I made a video about switching to a E3D V6 head, as that is a real solution to a lot of problems and I can really say it works, but not for this problem, but for a higher quality prints. Now, what I really don't like about your post is the screaming nature of it. READ THIS OR THAT... it's BS as there is no extra costs involved if you lower the extrusion rate to make it correct !!!
