The g27 shifters are almost identical to g29, for the 29 they moved the buttons from the shifter to the steering wheel. The basic design is the same, and mechanics are the same. Clamps and shifter are exactly the same which is why it is compatible for both. For example I still have the g27 shifter and there are some people still using the g25 shifter since it has the sequential shifter option.

After finding a bunch of different mods on eBay, I came here for some honest advice. I saw the 3Drap solution as the 'premium' model so after this review I bought it. It's been installed for two weeks. Everything in the video is bang on the money. However... The durability issue is real. Not because it wears down though: It is so tight on the shifter shaft that mine snapped after about 8 hours of play. But it wasn't the first thing to break. It took less than an hour for the thin piece of material partitioning 1st and 3rd gear to snap off. I've just lost the opposite piece between 2nd and 4th. This gives my shifter more of an OI look rather than HH. There is still some clamping force from the snapped part (more so in 1st, 3rd and 6th as the snapped occurred at the other end) and it's definitely still an improved feel. But it is not the golden solution sadly. 3D-printed stuff is everywhere now but I am finding, consistently, that either the material oo the fabrication process often results in low tensile strength. I bought a 3D-printed mount for the shifter, for example, that showed signs of stress almost immediately and is likely to snap within the next couple of days. So, great design but it needs to be fabricated with something either more flexible or more durable.
@Sifu_Steve4 жыл бұрын
Update: I went and uploaded a video highlighting everything I mentioned above. 3Drap reached out and replaced my broken parts with their new version: a nylon clamp and metal top plate. At their request, I reviewed them after putting them through their paces... and they've fixed it! They're the golden solution again.

@@mazda3mike I know I'm late to the party, but I was thinking the same thing. PLA is not the material I would have chosen to make that gate out of. Hi Barry. I got the improved feel mod today and followed your excellent video to install it. However I find it's now way too stiff and the gear stick gets stuck in gears - I have to use all my force to get it back into neutral. I notice in your video driving at the end that you use a lot of force to move between gears. Is this how you normally drive or is this to counter the getting stuck in gears that I have found? I can't apply this much force on my rig because it's tpo noisy: my wife came running upstairs to find what the racket coming from our bedroom was! I also feel it's pretty unrealistic: I don't drive myself (yet) but I've never seen drivers using so much force to change gears. Any thoughts? Cheers.

How long did this take to ship? I'm interested in purchasing it

This is cool but for the price I may as well just buy a thrustmaster

Or stick a bit of rubber between the desk and the clamp.

I paid over 70 euros (with shipping) for this shifter mod, not including the clamping mods to have it break after 3 days of use

@stephencutajar25483 жыл бұрын
@@atticusrussell1225 It was the earlier version, I had bought 2 with similar failures, I have now the v3.5 which seems a lot better but only had it for a week.

do you have a video with the eaton fuller skrs or any other like it?

To impove my mounts, i have literally just jammed a couple of soft erasers in between the mount and the desk... no need to print/buy new clamps
@backoncrack954 жыл бұрын
i have mine mounted to a wooden platform (sililar to a desk etc) with no additional support and i can tell you right now, i'd snap the stick off right off before the clamps were to come loose. whilst im appreciative and a fan of the content, i find a lot of the mods recommended by the channel to be a little unnecessary and in some cases wildly overpriced.
