This is part 1 of 3 part tutorial on how to do mechanical rigging for bone animation in 3ds Max. Part 1 covers using the HI IK Solver to animate some landing gear parts.
Part 2 will cover the HD IK Solver and part 3 will cover how to use an arg based controller to drive IK animations.

This is brilliant, really easy to follow, I normally do meshing, never got round to animation, ik solvers, dummies and such, really pleased to find this here

Position threshold! Thank you so much! It was driving me mad trying to figure out why my child node kept snapping up and down.

Very interesting, I see this is a very old video but what did you use the finished F-104 Star Fighter rig in? It seems more detailed then a video game would need.

I appreciate your try, but you have make a video talking about HD and HI in deep, from the basics to the last? For me it's a little confused the video.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, I no longer have a usable 3Ds Max install, so I cannot make any new videos.
