from my experience it very very slowly fades away, i don’t think it’s needed to relube switches though, mine have felt the same for over a year with extremely heavy use.

I really like your keyboard videos, they're satisfying as well as helpful at the same time. The intros that you usually have where toys move, I have a tip to make them better. You can take more pictures while moving the figures slowly and increase the frame rate, that will make it look more realistic. :)

Just received my K3 V2. Seems to be pretty sturdy, I think they've added a new metal plate. It's got a new adjustable angles design. I wish the LEDs can be brighter in Bluetooth mode.

Thanks. However, stabs do not sound clean. I did the same on Keychron K1 Pro and no chance to make them sound clean. There is always some rattle or other annoying sound. Always. No matter what you do. Never in my life have I seen a mechanical keyboard (normal or low profile) with stabs that do not annoy me.

any suggestion to remove the fingers / oil marks from the keys? in the past I bought keychron PBT keys but even that had some level of marks.. now I have k3 which seems more susceptible to have marks since this is ABS

Great vid as always! I got a question maybe 3ildcat or anyone reading this could answer, I got an aluminum plate for my gk61 but about 10 or so cut outs for the switches are a bit too big, the switch is loose. Got any idea on how I could mitigate this problem? Bandaid or tape pieces to tighten it up like you would a plate mount stab maybe? Haven't tried it yet was waiting for other suggestions.

Great video. For anyone thinking of getting it, The K3 is a terrible keyboard though. It's such a plastic piece of junk compared to other brands and other keyboards like the K1v4 from Keychron. Look elsewhere.

What are other comparable low profile keyboards on the market? I’ve only fiddled with some mechs here and there but never stuck with them. Satisfying to type on for the novelty (I grew up on thonky tan ibm keyboards with coiled cables). But after using a MacBook for a very long time I’m just way faster with less effort. I can see that the k3 has some shortcomings but its as close to what I’m looking for and it seems like there are a lot of us out there. I’m guessing a couple more iterations from keychron or someone else and I might stick with it for my desktop.

I have a bad left hand from a car accident. I don’t play enough games nowadays to worry too much but I feel a low profile keyboard would be less painful in the long term. I also don’t know how much modding I’d be doing to a regular board and kind of like the idea of the limited mods to this. With that said - I’ve been heavily considering this board, I love optical switches.

Your lubing method is very convenient, whereas everybody else's method was disassembling all switches, rubbing the parts of the switches with lube, and then putting them back together again. Is this can be applied to all switches? Also, what is that tool to screw and unscrew the nuts and bolts? I want one
