And to think the reason why Daryl said that it didn't matter after he killed Morales is because, Even though Daryl knew who it was he also knew that the person he killed wasn't that same person that he knew back at the start. Daryl knew that the Morales he killed was nothing more than a broken shell of the man he once was.
@spartan_warrior59279 ай бұрын
Well he actually killed him because fans banned together to bring him back to the show. And the producers didn’t want him back so boom good ole 15 min of fame. RIP Morales

@@spartan_warrior5927 Both things are true,they could have put him as a Negan victim or as a Walker in sanctuary or anything,they could have also just ignore the people asking about Morales or just tell then he and his entire family died as soon as they left the group,but they used it to make a point with Daryl.

Ezekiel's cockiness caught up to him. He lost most of his people because of it. ALMOST TO SEASON 9!!
@MinSunYe9 ай бұрын
well, he told them all to scatter so they wouldn't all get shot, and they would've rather acted as human shields to protect him. They died because they thought he was worth protecting and dying for, I wouldn't say that's his fault or cockiness, he's just very optimistic even in the worst of times. He just wants to have hope that everything will work out in the end, and it does, but not how he always expects it to
@Rknowles8139 ай бұрын
@@MinSunYe I'm definitely not saying it was his fault, definitely wasn't. Just saying, at a time like that, you can't be that cocky. They all didn't die protecting him, some did, but most didn't. Fun (not so fun) fact about that Kingdom and Ezekiel ambush scene at the end. This was spoiled by AMC using the scene as part of their teaser for the season! 🙄😠 Who do they employ to make these decisions! Again, a huge amount packed into the show, yet they still manage to give time to each scene that makes it feel unrushed! I dunno how they do it but I'm glad they do! It's the musical and ballet episode next, so have fun with that! Great reaction guys!

Also Rick and Daryl were looking for the machine guns so that the Saviors couldn’t use it to clear the herd from the Sanctuary but those machine guns ended up at Gavin’s outpost which is where the Kingdom were and that was the gun that mowed down Ezekiel’s group at the end of the episode.

I thought it was so cool that the overall theme of this episode was Mercy and Morals and that it was Morales who returned and is almost an exact mirror of Rick Idk if his name was a seed planted all the way in Season one for this payoff but if so props to the TWD writers.
@dravenquinn2649 ай бұрын
The whole point behind bringing Morales back was to show Rick that not all the Saviors are bad people Since Rick knew Morales since the start and he was a good person This puts Rick into a completely different perspective on the war. It was also kind of a nice throwback Easter egg to long time Fans I doubt the actor Juan Gabriel Pareja could stay around any longer.

RIP Morales XD I always loved his return TBH He was a great character to parallel between himself and Rick Both were good family men doing anything to protect their wife and kids And both made that journey from then in Atlanta to here now during the war It just goes to show how the people you fall in with can change who you become in this world Rick fell in with the right people so when he lost his wife and others he had a support system to bring him back Morales lost his family and had the Saviors as his support system It also goes to show how knowing someone can change everything Rick killed a man trying to protect his daughter because it was easy He didn’t know him He knew Morales for like 2 days back at the start and wants to save him simply because he remembers who he used to be The truth is both Morales and that guy were probably nice people before the end But simply knowing him changed everything for Rick even though Morales had become a Monster Also speaking of monsters Daryl is becoming a monster The way he kills Morales is brutal Without thought Even though he knew who it was And then the way he guns down the savior that Rick gave his word to Daryl’s rage and revenge against the Saviors is most definitely turning him into a monster He just wants to kill them all without thought.
@dravenquinn2649 ай бұрын
One side of me wants them to show Mercy but the other side is like THIS IS WAR I was against taking the prisoners back to The Hilltop because there are definitely bad seeds among that group but I was kind of mad that Daryl kept killing people Rick was having a conversation with but at the same time I understand it The great thing about Rick is that he’s good at being reasonable and trying to convince people to see from his perspective I mean most of the people that follow Rick now were against him in some capacity when they first met and that includes Daryl It just annoyed me but I also get it because this is war and there’s no time to be playing games Daryl was also tortured by Negan so I do get where he’s coming from.
@dravenquinn2649 ай бұрын
Daryl has a hard time letting people get close to him yet he’s let the core group get close to him He’ll do whatever he can to protect those close to him He’s especially close to Rick All he saw was that someone was about to kill Rick and they had to go in his mind It happened to Morales Daryl is far more attached to Rick than he ever was to Morales.
@MinSunYe9 ай бұрын
I can't even begin to explain how pissed I was when this episode aired. I had been raising the question for years on Morales and wondering where he's been. On my twitter I would always ask every season if they were ever going to bring him back because I knew they would one day. So for them to make it seem like this is some big return at the end of episode 2 only to then kill him off 3 minutes into this episode, I about lost it. What a stupid waste, years of waiting for nothing. They might as well had never brought him back because wtf was that. It wasn't impactful AT ALL and did absolutely nothing for the characters, not even Daryl. We already were given plenty of examples of their motivations and character arcs in the first two episodes and in future episodes like...What an absolute meme of a death. Just one of the many poor decisions this season made that made this season so messy and unfocused
@MHACompute9 ай бұрын
It's been said a few time, even in this thread, that this served for Rick to recall that not all Saviors are bad people. He got that with Gracie's dad, and then immediately afterwards with Morales. I think there was some fan service, too, Trevschan2 springs to mind, but... I get your frustration and feel your pain... a little bit.
@MinSunYe9 ай бұрын
@@MHACompute there’s a plethora of other examples of not all the Saviors being bad people like I said, it wasn’t necessary. They could’ve at least had him stick around longer to make it a little more impactful,, even half a season or a little less would’ve been fine

Problem for you is it seems you hyped up his return way more than most people did lol. I do understand your point of how random it was but for me personally as someone who was just surprised to see him, I quite liked the way they put such an abrupt end to it. It goes to show how fragile life is and was just another moment of TWD being unpredictable@@MinSunYe
@dravenquinn2649 ай бұрын
Morales is right If the roles had been reversed Rick would’ve killed him Daryl pretty much proved that point. I think Rick was lying to Morales and himself about finding another way at least at first you can see the gears turning in his head after Morales death that maybe they should be doing things differently because any one of the Saviors they fight could be just like Morales A good person who was broken by the cruelty of the Apocalypse. Rick tries this with the young Savior they encounter but Daryl isn’t into that Not after what the Saviors put him through.
