The Tape episode is actually my favorite, because there doesn’t even have to be a plot. Instead it’s a variety of other things, and it’s somehow really fun. I really like watching that episode.

Fun fact: that cheat code up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A Is a real cheat for the game called Contra for unlimmited lives. Wreck it ralph movie also makes mention of this cheat aswell!

Yep, known better as 'The Konami Code' and has been referenced or put in as actual cheat codes in later non-Konami games since. One of those classic 'playground talks' where before the internet, a lot of things just had to be shared on a per-person basis. Had a lot more mystique vs now, having hidden info for games

Daniel Lennard is actually the Vice President of Cartoon Network Development Studios Europe (now called Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe), the studio that produced Gumball, and he was the one who approved it to become a show and was one of the executive producers for the show.

The Tape and the Sweaters are definitely my favorite two back to back episodes (the A and B sides) but I think my personal favorite is still Richard delivering pizzas and breaking the universe. I still say "So you think you're hardcore huh???" and all the 80's insults like neo maxi zoom dweebs all the time

I always thought it was ironic that the Internet in this show is named Timmy. It reminds me of the Fairly OddParents episode “Father Time”. Cosmo told young Bill Gates to call it the Timmy instead of the Internet, which change things to where Timmy was now called Internet at the end of the episode.
