But, I real never know where any of drives R going and most shots from the fairway! LOL! Of course…. Thanks 2U make chipping & pitching has improved! LOL !Thanks so much for this tip! I have suspected, that something in my set up could help me be more accurate ! LOL!

I couldn't hit a fade at all with this technique. At all. What it did for me, however, was to perfect my natural draw. This is how I will set up and swing from now onwards!

Chris, typically what degree of movement are we talking about here? With a 6iron, how much can you expect to fade the ball with any degree of accuracy? I am talking you here, because you are a good player, it may give me an idea as to what is possible for me! Thankyou and Thankyou also for your quality contributions!

+Ravi Shanka Hi Ravi, i can gererally get a fair bit of movement on my 6 iron from left to right, maybe 15yds at the most, anything more than that really starts to lose me control over the flight, distance and direction.

Question Chris, I'm guessing an intentional fade or draw can only happen if you have a neutral grip? With a square club face?
@ChrisRyanGolf
@ChrisRyanGolf 8 жыл бұрын
+Carl ermno HI Carl, it would certainly help if the golfers natural ball flight is pretty neutral, but fades can certainly be hit with a strong or weak grip also, just about understanding the path and face realtionship and how to influence a change in them

My shot is similar to yours, in that I open the club face, but I struggle to get much fade. I think it's that my natural tendency is to hit a draw. Funny thing, though...on the course, I tend to hit slight fades with my longer clubs. I've never investigated it with a trackman....so would be interesting. My sense it that it has to do with how I follow through on my course shots....especially when I'm trying to navigate a narrow part of the fairway.

Wonderful video. Jack Niklaus said he aimed at left side of green, aimed face at center of green. He did that his entire career and won 54 majors.a perfect shot started on left side of green and faded in to center of green. I have found a "pull fade" needs a little closed face 5 degrees at address,but thats just me. If you r slicing a little, try closing the face or try hitting to left more (to the shortstop for americans)-a baseball reference. Ball position needs to b more forward, as you said. Great video! 1)aim left and swing left. 2)ball position forward. 3)if slicing, close face 5degrees or roll the face closed more at impact

I’m working hard to implement a fade through my whole game as I’ve found a draw end up with a close face at impact and distance is lost or out of control direction. You mentioned the “whole body” alignment left. I play a open stance but yet the club face is always shut down at impact. Besides a strong grip if a player just opens their feet on this shot could that be why the club face getting shut down feeling like a massive inside out swing? My shots sound awesome, center face strikes and powerful but a huge draw/hook.

Interesting point about aligining the club face for a fade- either close or open the face.. This has been a source of confusion to me for a long time whether to open or cose the face. Depends entirely on your perspective that much instruction does not elaborate on. Traditional and common instruction suggests if you want to fade the ball, you open the club face somewhat relative to the body line at address for a fade but not as much as to the target line (somewhere half between) . The opposite is true for a fade if club face is aligned with target line at address while the body is aimed off to the left of the target line. In that instance, you will be closing the club face relative to the target line to to hit a fade (somewhere in between the target line and the body line.) Seems to me it is common practice at address to line up the club face with the target at address first then move the body line to the left. Using this as a starting point, then you would laways be clsoing the club face relative to the target line for a fade -just the oppositie of what we have been taught for years!

Not trying to say that there is anything wrong in the instruction but the reason your ball didnt as much as you wanted it ot because of the 3rd pointer. The face is aiming between the target line and your stance makes the club face slightly closed. To eliminate that, the 3rd point should have the face square to the target line which is actually an open club face relative to your body. And that should fade the ball more than it did for you. But if someone realizes doint that they are slicing the ball then for that particular person, your 3rd point is perfectly correct! Great explanation.

You should be putting the ball _back_ in your stance for a fade, not forward.

Hey, skilled golfers could fade the ball from centre, forward or back, but it’s far easier to hit that shot when the ball is moved up in the stance 👍

You just say what most of the other instructors say! That doesn’t work! I know that for a fact! You can never consistently hit a fade setting up that way! 👎

If you're club is swing left and your face is open to the path the ball will fade. You ensure that happens each time you have a consistent fade...simples
