As someone who mainly played back in 2015-16 its crazy how far they've pushed their graphics and map creation to the limit. I will say the m4a1s nerf was necessary whatsoever. I thought it was the more "battle rifle" like out of the two M4s? They really need to figure their shit out between the two because it seems they're constantly flopping back and forth between actually usable and being bad.

The issue that made the a1s unbalanced was the micro buffs it got over the course of a few updates, bit by bit they made it statistically better than the a4. And now without careful consideration of the effect with it's recently changed stats it now becomes this weird mess that's perfectly summarised in the last bit by Phillip. At least it's harder to say ones better than the other, so we might get a more even split of usage between both m4s.... Which was valve's goal I guess

No, we wont get a more even split. We never got that. The problem is not that one weapon is better, the problem is that you have one slot for 2 different weapons. Just give every gun in cs a own slot. It was always like that, it worked and all this nerfing and buffing and putting 2 weapons on 1 slot made it a mess.

Was it statistically better than the A4 though? Looking at the A4, the fact that it can 2tap, has better ROF and a larger mag makes it a lot more versatile than the A1. The A1s only real advantage would prolly be it's tighter spread. But then again it's ROF is slower, so A4 would still be better for spraying. Really, what is this gun trying to achieve?

@@MsDestroyer900 it doesnt make tracers and also nearly no noise, so if you shot through smoke or through walls or on longer Ranges its hard to locate you. On long range its more precise and cost 200 less. Before the patch it made a bit more dmg as the a4 as compensation for the slower fire rate and from that point it was the weapon for skilled people, who where going for hs, while m4 was left for the low skillers who mainly spray. Holding long and mid range angles with m4s was way more efficient.

Damn, though I haven't played CS since the m4a1 had 25 bullets, that damage buff a while ago had me scared my rifle of choice would get harshly nerfed in coming updates after that would make it receive the limelight. 1:37 correction: it's just one of those maps, that everyone seems to dislike. Just yesterday I queued on this map and every single game I asked in chat if people liked it, people OVERWHELMINGLY dislike the map, and that's while asking the people playing it. I also noticed that the map is extremely T sided, to the point where winning 2-3 rounds as CT can be enough to win the game outright, and the A site is barely played at all, there's also no real point to using an AWP on it, out of all the places where you can have a long range fight, only one is actually relevant. It's just a terrible CS map, in another game it might have been amazing, but not in CS. Also the AWP change really doesn't nerf the gun very much, it's really only a slight inconvenience when you miss every shot or spam a smoke, the real nerf is in deathmatch where you end up having to constantly reload with people spawning behind you lol. And the M4A1S nerf really goes unnoticed in general gameplay, I'm sure there is a difference but in my personal experience I couldn't tell at all.

I think the biggest balance problem between the M4s is that the A1-s costs $200 less for whatever reason. That isn't so much in isolation but over the course of 8 buy rounds it's enough to run an extra armor pistol, enough for a coordinated team to shore up an extra $8K for utility, enough for an extra defuser most rounds, so on and so forth. I don't know how much this matters practically, but it makes it difficult to justify buying the M4A4 unless Valve is willing to make the M4A1 a downgrade, at which point there wouldn't be a reason to buy the M4A1. And for long-range unhelmeted headshots, I don't think it's a problem as A) full buy vs unarmored is only a meaningful fight with the glass cannon AWP/SSG08 play, and B) you really wouldn't want to pick a fight with that at 2000+ units anyways

For two examples of AWP aces that wouldn't happen with a 5 round mag, ChrisJ Mirage ace from triple on A and Coldzeras ace from CT inferno against big. Both end the play with 4 bullets remaining. I would have prefered the awp nerf to drop to 6-7 bullets to allow a little wiggle room. How many excellent awp aces have just been removed from the scenes future.
