such a great review. these detailed rundown videos are the best of youtube. thank you for the insight. It was also really useful how you emphasized that solvent based product will go through the lesser filter because my situation is occupationally applying Loba solvent based highly toxic, horrible wood stain to entire house floors that are basically confined spaces without the option for steady ventilation. I still can't find enough information about the self-contained breathing apparatus systems that supply you fresh O2 from a canister tank on your back. They say that they are only necessary for IDLH immediately dangerous to life and health environments, but i disagree because i want a system that i can breath fresh O2 from without having to worry about or anticipate the breakthrough of the fumes through the filters. The stain and also to a lesser, but still urgent degree, the oil based wood urethane from poloplaz. the stuff is so horribly toxic and i am looking for a solution. but even 3M is extremely ambiguous about which cartridges filter what. The stain safety data sheet says the two bad ingredients are "Dipropylenglykolmonomethylether" and ethanol or 'hydroxyl', and despite how those allegedly fall under volatile organic compounds, there is no indication of which filter is most specifically tailored for those harsh chemicals, because I only work with a specific two harsh finishes. one of them a stain and the other the oil based urethane. Thanks for adding to my understanding of all this though! you're awesome.

@Overspray Care to share any deals you might be aware of on the TR-600 model. I was looking to purchase one of these TR600 kits for non professional in home garage car painting. I had originally looked at the Hobby models that provide fresh air from a compressor pushing air from outside the work area. I'm sure you are familiar with those. My biggest concern is safeguarding myself against any negative health effects from spraying 2 stage paint containing Isocyanates. I was feeling pretty good about this TR600 model since it was self contained and you didn't have to drag another air hose around with you. My understanding initially after watching your video here was that this model would be perfect for that.. However, after reading a few of your other comments you were recommending for this type of application in painting 2k paints that it would be best going with a system that pushed fresh air either via filter air from compressor or a system like the Hobby system where you have an external air device pushing air to your your respirator via fresh air hose. Can you please clarify this. Again I was feeling pretty good about this model since it was cordless, but now am a bit confused. If this device will be suitable for filtering ISOCYANATES from spraying 2k paints then here is a breakdown of cost that I found from Amazon currently. Sure so ideally a seperate air source is the best option for safety of isocyanates , although this 3m kit will also work well in well ventilated areas or spray booths it doesn’t necessarily protect you 100% from isocyanates in a closed, incapsulated environment. I chose this because I dont have the option of a separate air fed system , so in my case this was the best option. Further more when I spray in the garage I make sure I have my extraction fan on high and only stay long enough in the garage to spray the parts that are needed to be painted and then I leave once the application process is done ✅. I try to use the best filter they offer for maximum protection but again it’s not 100%

Thanks for the video.. I am currently researching clean air respirator options for the health/safety aspect. Thanks...

Sure here’s my experience with using this respirator , * glasses are not an issue at all plenty of room and many painters actually wear glasses with this helmet * I would say it could last several months depending how much you spray and if you have a booth or garage painting like myself, less life without a booth * battery can get pricey I’ve seen some go for a couple hundred bucks on some cases but as of yet I have the standard battery and it lasts a long time

Hi , I have had a tr300 ( same pump as 315+ ) for years , unfortunately the filters for the 300 are not interchangeable with the 600 & they ONLY come rated for dust & nuisance vapours , so nothing for specific gases or solvents . I am upgrading to the tr600 because of this , also the airflow on a 300 with new filter is fixed at 190 litres minute , whereas the 600 is adjustable 3 speeds LOW 185 litres a minute , medium 205 & high 225 , hope this helps.

Hi, are you using this with 1k solvents only or also with 2k containing isocyanides? Thanks
@Mechaniclyfe3 жыл бұрын
Both 1k and 2k , an air fed would be best as it contains fresh filtered air from an outside source but due to space and lack of compressor volume this is the best for my circumstance, as far as filtering isocyanides, you must change the filter regularly , once the filter is saturated it no long effectively works. It’s best to use this in conjunction with a proper ventilated area such as a spraybooth or outside.

@GreatWhiteNiko8 ай бұрын
Nope. Does not work if you spray any kind of fumes. No amount of air gushing out of any mask provides 100% clean air to breath. Making your own supplied air respirator with a half mask is easy and costs about $120. Full face masks have the issue of overspray on the shields. Cleaning it is not only time consuming but also over time gradually fogs the screen.
