Pretty sure on the 3m worktunes, a single press of the button pauses your audio, double click goes to the next track, and triple click goes back to the previous track. Volume is controlled on the native device, and I think holding the button down cycles the power on and off. If you walk away with the native device while they're on, after 5 minutes of no connection they automatically power off as well.

Does everyone else have issues with the wire eventually coming loose just a little and lose sound. I’ve had 2 pair and both have had this issue.

I work manufacturing in a mill that is around 90dB and the 3m work tunes are perfect. I usually just listen to podcasts and can hear everything perfectly clear at about half volume or so while still being able to hear the equipment. Also, as previously stated, the one button has multiple functions. Long press for on and off, single press for pause/play, and double press for skip track. Volume is still controlled on the device but I have not had any issues because I just set it to what is comfortable and then pause the audio if I need to pay more attention or talk to someone.

Followed your advice. Very happy with my new 3M Worktunes while mowing, blowing, and edging. Adequate volume and battery lasts all day and then some. Mostly audiobooks and occasional music or Podcasts are my preferences. The hands free phone feature works great, although I must shut off or throttle down noisy equipment so the person I am talking to can hear me. I can wear a baseball type cap without muff interference over the ears. Comfortable to wear the majority of the day, but towards 5-6 hours need to take a break for awhile. Thanks from a fellow Sailor (MRC Ret.), this is about the newest video on this subject. I’m looking at the 3M. When I’m on my tractor, weed eater or chainsaw I want to listen to something. I’m retired, and I like to listen to Dan Bongino, and I don’t want to miss the news when Joe Biden gets thrown in jail. Yes I listen to a lot of podcasts with a little music in between. Other than volume control, the 3M unit does everything I need. If the phone rings, one tap on the button will answer it. For playback for audio books or music one tap will pause the sound and another will restart. Two taps skip and three taps go back a chapter or song. So it's not as bare-bones as you think.

Hey Steve,there are two pads inside each muff . I made a whole in the first one and covered it over with the second . Works great. Some come with the cut some without guess it's factory fault. Hope this helps

Get you some 3M WorkTunes Connect + AM/FM Hearing Protector instead. They have Bluetooth, AM/FM radio, microphone, etc. They also have excellent hand controls. If you don’t like the antenna, you can zip tie it down. (you could cut it off for that matter if you don’t want to use the radio) I have the older model without the microphone, but I don’t need to talk to anyone. Get you some PROHEAR GEP01 Gel Ear Pads (Upgraded) for 3M PELTOR Headsets. These appear to be the exact same thing as the ones from 3M, but at 1/3 the price. (perhaps from the same factory) I’ve been using them for quite a while now. These are excellent at keeping sweat and such out of the ear pads and also seal better; perhaps improving the sound dampening ability. They are a perfect fit, but you need to use your “man hands” to snap them in. Once they are in they’re not going anywhere, just like the factory originals.

I really do wish they did that

Can you wear glasses with these? I feel like you would have to break the seal to keep it closed against your skin for glasses.

Interesting. I am looking forward to retirement, in [small] part because Bluetooth is not allowed where I work. There is a third, central piece to my hearing aids I can't have, which is a Bluetooth interface. They would allow whatever the source to be sent to my single channel (R-ear), and I could still wear hearing protection over the hearing aids (it's not a large external bud) if needed. There aren't Bluetooth buds that also offer hearing protection, that you might like?
