Whether the machine should run 24 hrs a day or any specified period is there??

Hello Saran! Unless otherwise specified by your physician, keep V.A.C.® Therapy on for at least 22 hours in a 24-hour period. Do not leave the V.A.C.® Dressing in place if the therapy unit is switched off for more than two hours in 24. I have a wound that’s been using this system for 4 months. The wound is 1.1 centimeters deep. It’s been “healing” at the rate of .1 centimeters per week. It’s changed 3 times weekly and the healed skin on top of wound is ripped open. The pain is excruciating for 1 day after “wound care”. This pain is going away because I’m refusing any more mis-treatment from your inferior system.
