Kite Flying a Pirate Ship at Garry Point Park

Got out to Garry Point Park with @jurassicmark to try kite flying. The wind did not cooperate until we were starting to leave, but we still got it up. It's a great kite in the shape of a pirate ship and it fly very level and awesome. Check it out!

Its funnt that i just bought the exact same ship (mostly), same triwinder grip, same design, from Costco in Ontario, Canada. Interesting connrction actoss time, and i flew the kite today for the first time at the beach and it was super cool, everybody got a kick of it.

Just a little interesting history piece, the guy who brought that kite in to the store said it had never been flown before, so you were the first to pilot/sail it!

+Naomi Kroeker even COOLER! The spinning tail piece was great, and the kite sat really level with the ground. It was fun to watch. I think the continuous 360° video does a better job of capturing it's coolness. Thanks for commenting Naomi!

Yikes. We had it for like a week and then it went back to the thrift store. The only actual evidence I have of it is the video. Sorry to not be more helpful. Take care.

Old video but a little fun history fact, no pirate ever used the traditional jolly roger with skull and crossbones, the skull and crossbones was more a product of Robert Louis Stevenson for Treasure Island. The only pirate to ever come close was Jack Rackham whose flag was comprised of a front facing skull with two crossed swords at the bottom. No pirate ever had the traditional front facing skull and crossbones behind the skull. Henry Avery did have a side facing skull with crossbones but it still doesn't match the traditional.

Not really. It needs the drag provided by the tail to stay stable.
