That Constellation with flames coming out of the engines is one of the coolest things I've seen.

i saw fighterjets unresticted klimbing - thats impressive - i experienced the superconnie live - and was shocked by the huge noise emission - this piston motors are outdated - even a steamengine is more elegant - but i am more drawn to gliders - even the space shuttle is a glider while landing

Just getting airborne, an aircraft like the Constellation burns through the equivalent of two to three drums of fuel.

I love the flames out of the R-3350 TurboCompound engines on the Super Connie. The PowerRecovery Turbines added like 550 HP to each engine but caused the flames shooting out of the tailpipes. Looks awesome. Those were some bad ass machines!

The Connie is the most beautiful airliner ever made. Its sound is absolutely gorgeous and brings back many fond memories for me when I was a kid watching them take off daily at Los Angeles Int'l Airport (yes, I'm old).

Back when I was flying heavies I over-rotated too, too much and we actually did a complete loop the loop and landed back on the runway. The passengers thought it was the fastest trans-Atlantic flight they'd ever experienced until I went on the Tannoy to tell them we were still at Heathrow. I had footage of it on VHS - I chucked it away but I wish now I'd kept it as nobody believes this happened.

That "almost a tail strike" is distortion from using a telephoto lens from very far away, with a curved surface runway.

I never get tired of seeing the A380, it's so massive and yet still graceful and majestic. I was lucky enough to take a 10h+ flight in an A380 in business class ~8 years ago and it was an amazing experience, a trip where I was dreading the initial long flight and actually found it awesome (no I didn't pay for it myself). It's too bad that there never seemed to be a good market fit for this plane, I wish it would have had more orders.

The plane did not experience a pitch up, which is an uncontrolled anomaly. The pilot just kept pulling a bit too much on the controls after the plane had touched down. He corrected when he realized it.
